'Transformers: The Last Knight' Enlists Anthony Hopkins

Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins has joined Mark Wahlberg in "Transformers: The Last Knight," the fifth installment of the blockbuster Paramount Pictures franchise.

The news was announced this morning on the official Transformers Twitter account.

Directed once again by Michael Bay, who insists it will be his fifth and final "Transformers" film, "The Last Knight" also features franchise newcomers Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael, with veteran Josh Duhamel expected to return.

Although no details about the plot are known, Bay released a teaser this week announcing the return of Megatron.

The 78-year-old Hopkins, who'll next be seen on HBO's "Westworld," will reprise his role as Odin in Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok."

"Transformers: The Last Knight" opens June 23, 2017.
