Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has added Peter Dinklage, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio and other actors to the cast.

As reported by Deadline, the seventh entry in the Transformers franchise will feature Dinklage as Scourge, Koshy voicing Arcee and DiMaggio as Stratosphere. Additionally, the upcoming film will include David Sobolov as Rhinox/Battletrap, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez voicing Nightbird, Cristo Fernandez as Wheeljack and Tobe Nwigwe playing Reek. Paramount has previously confirmed Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson, Peter Cullen and Ron Perlman's involvement.

The significant casting development comes alongside the release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' first trailer. The seventh installment will fit into the Transformers timeline, occurring between 2018's Bumblebee and Michael Bay's 2007 film. Rise of the Beasts is set in 1994's New York City and introduces the three new factions of The Maximals, the Terrocons and the Predabots. The trailer also touches on the conflict between the Autobots and Decepticons and three groups, as mentioned earlier.

Creed II's Steven Caple Jr. will direct Rise of the Beasts and hopes to employ tactics used in 1990s action flicks. "Terminator 2 is classic. The heaviness of the metal, if you will, all that stuff plays into it," Caple said. "So I think when you're looking at our film and looking at sort of where we're taking it, [we] kind of want to bring that classic expedition, that classic journey through New York and where we go from there."

Paramount's Rise of the Beasts marks a new trilogy for the Transformers franchise. Based on the eponymous Hasbro toys, the Transformers series has released six films and 45 animated TV series. As seen in the trailer, despite starting a fresh film series, the robots' designs call back to their similar appearances in the original animated series. While there is no information surrounding the eighth and ninth entries, the film company confirmed the development of a CG-animated Transformers, which would hit theaters sometime in 2024.

While Ramos and Fishback play two archaeologists from Brooklyn in Rise of the Beasts, the upcoming film features an array of Autobots, Maximals and Terrocons. In Rise of the Beasts, Robots in Disguise fans will see familiar faces like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Additionally, Arcee, Mirage, Nightbird, Airazor, Rhinox and Optimus Primal make up the cast. Dinklage's Decepticon Scourge will serve as the Rise of the Beasts' main antagonist as the leader of the Terrocons.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts releases in theaters on June 9, 2023.
