The official film rating for Paramount Pictures’ seventh installment to the action franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has been revealed.

According to Film Ratings, the Motion Picture Association has granted the newest live-action Transformers movie a PG-13 rating for "intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence, and language." Rise of the Beasts' matches those of its predecessors, from 2009's Revenge of The Fallen to 2017's The Last Knight.

What to Expect in Rise of the Beasts?

As one of the tentpole movies scheduled for a June 2023 release, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is currently on track to achieve a massive opening weekend, which might potentially exceed 2018’s prequel film Bumblebee's previous record.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is directed by Steven Caple Jr. who first gained recognition for his work on the Michael B. Jordan-led Creed II movie. The upcoming Transformers film is being described as a globetrotting adventure which will take place during the '90s. In order to capture the vibrant culture of that era, Caple had drawn inspiration from classic action movies like Terminator 2.

In the film, the Autobots are back in action as they enlist the help of the Maximals to help them in their fight against long-time rivals Decepticons, who in turn will be assisted by the Beast Wars villains Predacons and Terrorcons.It will feature the voices of franchise vet Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, Pete Davidson as Mirage, Liza Kosy as Arcee, John DiMaggo as Stratosphere, Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal, Michelle Yeoh as Airazor, Peter Dinklage as Scourge, and more.

Paramount’s All-Star Animated Transformers Movie

Other than Rise of the Beasts, Paramount Pictures has also announced the development of Transformers One, an animated prequel movie which will be directed by Toy Story 4's Josh Cooley. The studio has assembled a star-studded voice cast including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, and Laurence Fishburne. Hemsworth will be lending his voice to a young version of Optimus Prime, while Henry will portray a young Megatron.

The animated movie is expected to explore the origins of the Autobots and Decepticons leaders, and how their friendship transformed into a lifelong rivalry. In a previous interview, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura promised Transfomers fans that they will get "to see Cybertron in a way you've never seen it, that no one's ever seen it before," as the prequel will also have the chance to depict the chaos leading up to its destruction.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts arrives in theaters on June 9.
