The Ghostbusters' iconic Ectotron will receive a revamp in the new year to celebrate the latest film in the hit supernatural-adventure franchise, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

The updated Ecto-1 Ectotron figure is a replica of the Cadillac in the upcoming film and will be available for sale exclusively at Target, as confirmed by Hasbro.

The new Ecto-1 Ectotron figurine will stand seven-inches tall, and can convert between Ecto-1 and Transformer mode in 22 easy steps. It also comes with a Proton Pack, Blaster accessories, a classic Slimer ghost figure and a Ghostbusters: Afterlife-inspired Muncher ghost figure.

Revamps included to the figurine are an updated head sculpt, updated Ecto-Goggles and afterlife Tech Specs that show the capabilities of Ectotron -- including strength, speed and bust-ability. Extra features include weathering on the front, back, sides, and top and the ladder switched to the left side of the vehicle, as well as a number of details only super fans will notice. This is the second iteration of the Ecto-1 Ectotron Transformer figure, which joins Hasbro's Top Gun: Maverick Transformer announced earlier this year, as well as the Back to the Future Transformer Gigawatt.

The Electron robot was first introduced in the 2019 IDW comic book crossover series, which incorporated characters from both Ghostbusters and Transformers. In the series, an Autobot scientist ended up taking on the vehicular form of the Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1 vehicle and helped the Autobots defeat the ghosts of the Decepticons, who were all destroyed when Gozer visited and destroyed Cybertron.

The Ecto-1 Ectotron is available for pre-order now at Target for $49.99 and will be released on Jan. 1, 2021. Fans who purchase the figurine will also receive Issue #1 of the Transformers Ghostbusters Ghosts of Cybertron comic book from IDW Publishing, which features an exclusive cover.
