Transformers, Green Lantern, TMNT, Fantastic Four 2: December 26th Comic Reel Wrap

The cover of Empire magazine has the first real image of Optimus Prime in all of his mechanized glory.

Speaking of Prime time, if you head over to the official web site, you can hear voice actor Peter Cullen reading the winning lines from a fan contest to script something Prime will say in the actual movie. You'll have to wait until the end of the teaser, which is also posted on the site.

We got an email from Malvin, who pointed out this link at Craigslist, discussing casting for a GL television pilot with John Stewart as the lead character.

Superhero Hype has updated their coverage to show a high resolution version of the new one-sheet poster.

The official site has been updated with a slightly different angle on Norrin Radd, the new film's logo and a synopsis of the story.

Meanwhile, Newsarama has an interview with actress Kerry Washington about the differences between the character in film and print. "That me and my teamÕs idea. We knew that 'Fantastic Four' was being made. I know [director] Tim Story. My manager and agents discussed it, we said 'Let's ask them if they will go black for Alicia.' We went to the studio and asked them if they were open to the idea and they said 'Yeah that might be kind of neat.' It was exciting. My dad actually called me a month ago to tell me that he was with some of my cousins and they were watching cartoons and they saw that Alicia Masters in the 'Fantastic Four' cartoon is now black. I think that is so cool."

Somebody snuck a camera into a theater, filmed the new trailer and posted it on YouTube. Ain't technology grand?

Finally, the new teaser trailer has also been posted on Apple's Web site.

Newsarama also spoke to actor James Franco about his Marvel-minded movie. When asked about further sequels, Franco said, "It is possible. IÕm sure Sony and Marvel would love to make ten more ... When Tobey, Kirsten and I signed on for the first one, we all signed one for three pictures. So the next one isnÕt just an automatic yes. I think a lot of things need to be discussed."

Kryptonsite has reposted some spoilers from Wizard magazine, talking largely about romantic situations on the show, but with a twist ...

Even if it's all Greek to you, there's a photo of the new King Leonidas action figure over at ICv2.

Every year I post the principle of the day for the holiday Kwanzaa because I celebrate it. I'm not evangelizing, feel no pressure to get down in the same way, I'm just celebrating. The principle for today is for "Unity: To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation and race."

As for the Comic Reel, we can't do this without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos -- they're all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask, "What do you mean your sister's dating somebody who works for Miles Millar?" The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web's rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we've got you covered like a comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu (web site, MySpace blog) saying thank you for your time and indulgence, and "enough talk -- let's go make with the 'biff' and the 'pow' already."
