A still has surfaced from the Transformers spinoff movie Bumblebee that confirms the return of the titular Autobot's Volkswagen Beetle form. The yellow car, which iconically appeared on the original Transformers animated show, will make its return in the '80s-set film.

The still comes from a scan via ComicBookMovie, which took the image from the latest issue of Empire Magazine. It depicts star Hailee Steinfeld standing alongside the trusty Autobot in his classic vehicle form. Take a look below.

"I wanted to approach this massive, expansive franchise and really focus in on a tiny corner of the canvas," director Travis Knight told the magazine. "Everything I've tried to do at Laika, searching for an artful blend of darkness and light, intensity and warmth, humour and heart, I wanted to bring to the Transformers franchise."

He added. "At its core it's just a beautiful love story between two broken souls who find each other and heal each other...I grew up loving those classic Spielbergian Amblin films. And we're trying to evoke that kind of emotion in this movie, fusing a rich coming-of-age story with some sci-fi insanity."
