The war for the fate of Cybertron continues this fall in Transformers: Battlegrounds, a new video game in Hasbro's iconic Transformers franchise.

Hasbro has released a gameplay trailer, showing a tactical warfare approach as players control Autobots and Decepticons, navigating immersive battlefields and engaging in explosive combat. The trailer culminates in Optimus Prime and Megatron confronting one another as their grudge continues.

The game will include both single-player and multiplayer modes, with battles ranging from Earth to Cybertron as Bumblebee attempts to keep the powerful Allspark away from the clutches of the villainous Megatron and the Autobots rally behind a new leader while hiding out on Earth.

Battlegrounds is the first Transformers video game since 2015's Transformers: Devastation and the first-ever Transformers video game to arrive on the Nintendo Switch. With its tactical-geared gameplay, Battlegrounds looks to put a new spin on the fan-favorite franchise, as players favor careful strategies instead of charging headlong into the ongoing war between Autobots and Decepticons.
