Back To The Future celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, and Hasbro Inc., Universal Brand Development and Amblin Entertainment, together with IDW Publishing, have decided to celebrate in an unorthodox fashion. Hasbro has created a Transformers figure named Gigawatt, whose alternate form is a DeLorean, the time-traveling automobile from the iconic film series.

The Gigawatt figure stands 5.5 inches tall in robot form, and features several nods to the films. Gigawatt wears goggles similar to Doc Brown's and inside his chest is a flux capacitor, which allows for time travel. IDW is also launching a new four-part comic miniseries titled Transformers/Back To The Future, which sees Marty McFly and Gigawatt attempting to alter a dystopian future ruled by the Decepticons.

The comic miniseries sees Marty McFly at home in Hill Valley, in 1985. However, his life is once against disturbed when the DeLorean draws the attention of the Decepticons. Marty will have to end the threat of these robots in the past, present and future with only the time-traveling DeLorean as the autobot Gigawatt to help.

The Gigawatt figure is limited to 1,985 pieces and features special packaging to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Back To The Future. The toy is available for pre-order now on the Walmart website. Transformers/Back to the Future #1 will go on sale October 1st in comic book shops.
