WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Tranformers/Back to the Future #1 by Cavan Scott, Juan Samu, David Garcia Cruz, and Neil Uyetake, available now.

The Transformers and Back to the Future worlds have collided in a thrilling display of action and super science. While Marty McFly might not be aware of it when things kick off -- considering everyone's favorite Robots in Disguise do love to stay incognito when they can -- he is about to get a chilling wake up call. Not only that, but it looks like it'll be up to Marty to save the future yet again.

Where the original Back to the Future began its time-traveling journey is also where this story is set to unfold. After jumping through time with the DeLorean while Doc Brown is gunned down in the parking lot of the Hill Valley mall, Marty returns to find a mostly unscathed Doc ready to make his own journey. Unbeknownst to the duo, their actions have been seen by two Decepticon agents hiding nearby, Rumble and Ravage.

When Rumble tells Megatron what has transpired, the leader of the Decepticons orders the DeLorean captured and brought to him immediately. Time travel would be the ultimate trump card in his war against Optimus Prime and the Autobots, so failure is not an option. As seems to be almost always the case, though, the Decepticons plot is foiled by the Autobot Bumblebee, who just so happened to be the in the right place at the right time.

After Bumblebee runs off Rumble and literally runs over Ravage, he also witnesses the DeLorean's definitely not standard features in action, and tells Optimus Prime that he is headed home with big news. Now that the action is done with and Doc Brown headed to the future, Marty is calling it a night and walks home hoping for a good night's rest. After climbing in through the window, Marty settles into bed, only to be awoken just a few short hours later by his father.

At five in the morning, Marty is being hounded to get dressed and go outside. While his family and neighbors are all well awake and at attention, clad in matching red jumpsuits, Marty is confused and still half asleep, and the confusion only gets worse when he goes outside. The backs of all of the jumpsuits are emblazoned with the Decepticon logo, which Marty doesn't recognize, but the giant robots lording over everyone are obviously a bad sign even if he hasn't seen them before.

Back to the Future Transformers 1

Marty and the rest of the people around him load up onto a large transport vehicle and are taken to a work camp where they are made to harvest and process Energon cubes for their evil robot overlords. While taking everything in and trying to make sense of it all, things get even worse when Marty is singled out by one of the human supervisors. This isn't just any random villain, though, this is none other than Biff Tannen, the bane of Marty's existence. But before Marty can be berated too badly by his former bully, Biff also gets singled out for incompetence by the foulest Decepticon of them all, Starscream.

This future isn't the first time that fans have seen Marty witness his hometown become a dystopian nightmare, though. In some ways, it harkens back to Back to the Future Part II in which the Biff Tannen of 2015 uses the time machine to give a sports almanac from the future to his younger self in the 80s. This allowed Biff to amass wealth and power, enough of it to have Marty's father George secretly killed off and force Marty's mother Lorraine to marry him.

Arguably, the bad version of Hill Valley from Back to the Future II is leagues better than the one we are presented with at the end of Transformers/Back to the Future #1, but it isn't nearly as exciting. Then again, it is hard to beat a DeLorean with a time machine that is also a 25-foot tall talking robot.
