Last week saw two major virtual events that unveiled a massive wave of new trailers and promos for upcoming television series and video games: Sony's September showcase for its next-gen home console, the PlayStation 5, and fan-favorite production company Rooster Teeth's RTX@Home presentation for new seasons of its popular online programming, with both events leading the charge of new content being promoted.Here are all the biggest trailers, teasers and promos released this past week as Summer 2020 draws to an end.RELATED: Trailer Round-Up: Dune, Ubisoft Forward & Star Trek Day Lead a Big Week

Animaniacs

One of the most beloved animated series from the 1990s is coming to Hulu for new episodes with Animaniacs. A teaser for the revival showcased past moments from the iconic original series, along with Pinky and the Brain, while providing a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the new show ahead of its November premiere. Steven Spielberg will return to executive produce, with a second season already confirmed for 2021.

Developed for television by showrunner Wellesley Wild, the Animaniacs revival series premieres Nov. 20 on Hulu.

The Boys

Amazon released a pair of new promos for The Boys Season 2, each teasing an epic confrontation between Billy Butcher and Black Noir. The first has The Seven's resident martial artist tail Hughie Campbell and Mother's Milk to Butcher's mother's home, where their team leader has gone to recuperate after reuniting with his wife. A second promo has the three learn they're being targeted by a Supe and set out to construct a makeshift bomb using common household items, teasing a bloody showdown.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. New episodes of Season 2 release Fridays on Amazon Prime Video.

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition

Capcom's widely acclaimed Devil May Cry 5 is receiving a remastered edition on the PlayStation 5, with the console's launch in November. A gameplay trailer for the new version of the bestselling hack-and-slash adventure showcases the difference between protagonists Dante, Nero and V as they cut through demons while trying to find the whereabouts of Nero's sword and demonic arm while rescuing Lady and Trish from the villainous Urizen.

Developed and published by Capcom, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will be released for PlayStation 5, available digitally on Nov. 12.

Disney+

Disney+ continues to pull out all the stops, with a new wave of programming arriving through the end of 2020. A promo for upcoming content showcased everything from additional X-Men films to official confirmation that the Marvel Cinematic Universe miniseries WandaVision remains on track for late 2020 after facing a delay due to COVID-19.

Final Fantasy XVI

Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XVI, the first numbered installment in its long-running video game series since 2016's Final Fantasy XV. The announcement trailer takes the franchise back to medieval action as opposed to its cyberpunk installments, with a sweeping magical war unveiled complete with cavalries charging atop Chocobos and a mountain titan coming to life to battle a spellcaster. While no release date has been announced, the upcoming game will be a timed console exclusive on the PlayStation 5.

Developed by Square Enix and published by Sony, Final Fantasy XVI will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC at an unannounced date.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach

The popular horror franchise Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to the PlayStation 5 with Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. The announcement trailer shows an abandoned entertainment center, with a cavernous storage room, darkened kitchen, neon-lit laser tag arena and palatial foyer shown before the player is menaced by the franchise's signature murderous animatronics. The game is slated to be a timed console exclusive for the PlayStation 4 and 5.

Developed by Steel Wool Studios, Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach will be released for Playstation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Fortnite

One of the games that will be available along with the PlayStation 5's launch in November is the popular competitive shooter Fortnite. A gameplay trailer for the PS5 version demonstrated how the game takes advantage of the new console's advanced hardware, with the Unreal Engine 4 providing crisper resolution, a significantly farther draw distance and explosive action without any sign of slowdown running on the superior graphical engine.

Developed by Epic Games, Fortnite is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows. PS5's version of Fortnite will be available on the console's launch date, Nov. 12.

Henchmen

Behind every supevillain is an under-appreciated group of assistants and goons, who finally get their due in the upcoming animated movie Henchmen. When a janitor training to become a full-on henchman acquires a power suit, he finds himself confronting the supervillain Baron Blackout as a bad guy who accidentally breaks good. Due to the global health crisis, the film will be released next month directly to home video.

Directed by Adam Wood, Henchmen stars Thomas Middleditch, James Marsden, Rosario Dawson, Alfred Molina, Will Sasso, Nathan Fillion, Rob Riggle, Jane Krakowski, Craig Robinson and Bobcat Goldthwait. The film arrives on Digital HD Oct. 9.

Hogwarts Legacy

After months of rumors, Sony's showcase confirmed Warner Bros. Games is developing an open-world game that takes place within the Harry Potter franchise. Set in the 19th century, Hogwarts Legacy has players enroll in Hogwarts to attend classes and explore the surrounding world as they develop their magical abilities, with the actions affecting the school's far-reaching legacy. Following the trailer's debut, the developers confirmed the game will also be released for Microsoft's Xbox Series X/S.

Developed by Warner Bros. Games and Portkey Games, Hogwarts Legacy will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at a later date.

Jurassic World Aftermath VR

As Jurassic World: Dominion has resumes filming, fans can immerse themselves in the franchise's dinosaur-driven action much earlier in the upcoming VR experience Jurassic World Aftermath VR for the Oculus Quest. An announcement trailer follows the player as they navigate abandoned facilities on the franchise's primary setting of Isla Nublar, where they quickly discover they're being stalked by voracious velociraptors.

Developed by Coatsink, Jurassic World Aftermath VR will be released for the Oculus Quest on Dec. 17.

The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian, the inaugural Star Wars original series on Disney+, has unveiled the debut trailer for its second season. As the eponymous bounty hunter learns about his people's storied war against the Jedi, he travels across frozen planets and vast oceans to take The Child to whatever may remain of the Jedi Order.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Taika Waititi and Emily Swallow. Season 2 premieres Oct. 30 on Disney+.

Monster Hunter

A significant portion of the latest Nintendo Direct focused on Capcom's hit Monster Hunter franchise, with two new installments coming to the Nintendo Switch next year. This March sees the release of Monster Hunter Rise, the first main installment in the franchise since 2018's Monster Hunter World, with a noted focus on vertical movement and exploration. This will be followed by the RPG spinoff Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, with cross-functionality features between the two titles for players that own both games.

Developed and published by Capcom, Monster Hunter Rise will be released for the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be released for the Switch in summer 2021.

The 100

With only two episodes remaining, The 100 is rapidly nearing its series finale. The CW released a promo for its penultimate episode, ominously titled "The Dying of the Light," with Clarke Griffin and Octavia Blake launching a desperate rescue mission to recover Clarke's daughter Madi from Bill Cadogan and his Disciples. With a prophesied last war for humanity teased for the series finale, the promo shows battle lines drawn as the Disciples literally break out the big guns for the coming conflict.

The 100 stars Eliza Taylor, Marie Avgeropoulos, Bob Morley, Lindsey Morgan, Richard Harmon, Tasya Teles, Shannon Kook and J.R. Bourne. The series airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

Primal

Genndy Tartakovsky's award-winning animated series Primal returns for the second half of Season 1 next month, bringing the prehistoric duo of Spear and Fang back together for new adventures. Trailer for the season's final five episodes tease bloody action as the pair are confronted by ravenous wolves and undead dinosaurs, with mysterious shadowy figures wielding magic against the two. The series has since been renewed for a second season by Cartoon Network.

Created by Genndy Tartakovsky, Primal returns to finish its first season starting Oct. 4 at 11:30pm ET/PT on Adult Swim.

Red vs. Blue: Zero

Rooster Teeth unveiled a sneak peek of the perennially popular machinima series Red vs. Blue: Zero, which returns for its 18th season next month. As veteran hero Carolina welcomes a new team, the Shatter Squad, the ensemble finds itself facing a shadowy syndicate leader known only as Zero, with the ragtag team serving as the only thing standing in Zero's way from total galactic domination.

Created by Burnie Burns, Red vs. Blue: Zero is directed by Torrian Crawford and Noël Wiggins and stars Wiggins alongside Fiona Nova, Christian Young, Jenn K. Tidwell, Hannah McCarthy, André Ouellette, Ryan Haywood, Devin Finn and Jen Brown. The 18th season of RvB premieres Oct. 19.

Resident Evil Village

One of the biggest announcements during Sony's showcase was a reveal of the second trailer for Capcom's Resident Evil Village. The eighth main installment in the franchise has players control Resident Evil Biohazard's protagonist Ethan Winters as he arrives at a sinister village in the snowy woods. As Ethan discovers that the villagers are hiding bloody, supernatural secrets, he is attacked a man-beast out for his blood before discovering a foreboding mansion on the outskirts of town.

Developed and published by Capcom, Resident Evil Village will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2021.

RWBY

Rooster Teeth's hit animated series RWBY returns for its eighth volume in November. A new teaser shows the Kingdom of Atlas divided at the worst possible time as the villainous Salem resurfaces after previously masterminding Cinder's actions earlier in the series. With humanity's defenses splintered, the fantasy heroes will have to band together to protect Remnant from dark forces and overwhelming odds.

Created by Monty Oum, Rooster Teeth Animation's RWBY stars Lindsay Jones as Ruby Rose, Kara Eberle as Weiss Schnee, Arryn Zech as Blake Belladonna and Barbara Dunkelman as Yang Xiao Long. Volume 8 premieres on Nov. 7.

South Park

The long-running Comedy Central animated series South Park has always addressed contemporary social issues in its own unique style and the show returns for a very special episode this month focused on the COVID-19 pandemic. As the global health crisis spreads to the small Colorado town, Randy Marsh attempts to cash in on the epidemic while Stan and his classmates are stressed about being forced to return to school despite the health risks posed by the contagion.

"The Pandemic Special" episode of South Park premieres Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

The most buzzed-about game available at launch for the PlayStation 5 is Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the follow-up to Insomniac Games' universally acclaimed 2018 title Marvel's Spider-Man. An extended gameplay trailer showed Miles attending a rally run by his mother only for it to be violently interrupted by the Roxxon Corporation and the villainous Tinkerer. Showcasing his own unique abilities, including the bioelectric Venom Blast and invisibility, Miles leaps into action while rescuing civilians caught in the crossfire.

Developed by Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 this holiday season.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge

Star Wars fans will the chance to visit that iconic galaxy far, far away in the upcoming VR experience Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge. Developer ILMxLAB unveiled a gameplay teaser trailer, with players taking on the role of a droid repair technician who crashes on the Disney theme park's world of Batuu. Teaming up with C-3PO on a vital mission for the Resistance, players employ blasters, thermal detonators and more to survive against space pirates.

Developed by ILMxLAB, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge will be released for the Oculus Quest this holiday season.

Synchronic

After starring in the second and final season of Altered Carbon, Anthony Mackie is keeping things sci-fi with the upcoming film Synchronic. Mackie stars as Steve, a paramedic in New Orleans, who stumbles across a string of overdoses linked to a mysterious drug known as Synchronic. After being diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor, Steve takes the controlled substance, with the drug impacting his perception of time as he goes on a horrifically bad trip.

Directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead, Synchronic stars Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan. The film is slated to open in theaters on Oct. 23.
