Adventure Time: Distant Lands

While the main Adventure Time series concluded in 2018 with its tenth season, the enormously popular animated show is making its return for a special one-hour special next month on HBO Max. Celebrating the tenth anniversary of the series, a teaser trailer for Adventure Time: Distant Lands shows classic characters and settings without revealing any clips from the upcoming special itself.

Dark Side of the Ring

The shocking dark secrets of the professional wrestling industry are revealed in a new episode of the acclaimed documentary series Dark Side of the Ring. A new trailer delves into the mysterious death of Nancy Argentino and her connection to pro wrestler Jimmy Snuka, who was suspected of murdering her.

Dark Side of the Ring airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on VICE TV.

Extraction

Chris Hemsworth is reuniting with longtime Marvel Studios filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo for the upcoming Netflix original movie Extraction. Produced by the Russo Brothers, the action film sees Hemsworth portray a mercenary tasked with recovering a kidnapped boy in the middle of a drug war between warring cartels in India and Bangladesh. The hard-hitting trailer demonstrates the film more than earns its R-rating.

Directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo, Extraction stars Chris Hemsworth, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Pankaj Tripathi, Derek Luke, Marc Donato, and David Harbour. It is scheduled to be released on April 24 on Netflix.

Fallout 76

Bethesda Softworks' online game Fallout 76 is about to get a massive, free update next week, intensifying the fight for post-apocalyptic West Virginia. The Wastelanders expansion will bring a new main quest, an increased arsenal of weapons and gear, and a reputation system to the game, as players forge their own legacy amid rival factions battling for control.

Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout 76 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The Wastelanders expansion will be released on April 14.

50 States of Fright

With the premium streaming site Quibi now available on mobile devices everywhere, the new digital platform has spared no expense to deliver original content boasting all-star creative talent. Among the original programming on the streaming service is 50 States of Fright, a horror anthology developed by Sam Raimi. Each episode delivers a scary story inspired by local urban legends and folklore from across the United States.

The first season of 50 States of Fright stars Rachel Brosnahan, Travis Fimmel, Christina Ricci, Jacob Batalon, Ming-Na Wen, Taissa Farmiga, Asa Butterfield, John Marshall Jones, Ron Livingston, Victoria Justice, Karen Allen, James Ransone and William B. Davis. The series is part of Quibi's original programming library.

Fight Like a Girl

The WWE is steadily expanding its original content with new partnerships across a variety of networks and digital platforms. Among these is Quibi, on which the new reality series Fight Like a Girl premieres next week. The series has the WWE female Superstars team up with women facing hard times to help them gain professional wrestler physiques while rediscovering their sense of self-worth.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

This week marks the release of the eagerly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake, which reimagines and updates the iconic PlayStation game for a new generation. To herald its arrival, Square Enix has released a final trailer for the enhanced remake that introduces its fan-favorite cast as gamers return to the industrial cyberpunk city of Midgar to save the world.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is developed and published by Square Enix. The game arrives on April 10 for PlayStation 4.

The Jack in the Box

Indie horror movies continue to move forward as Hollywood blockbuster films are temporarily on hold in the face of the global pandemic. In the upcoming direct-to-video release The Jack in the Box, a man discovers a mysterious box in a field that he turns in to a local museum. However, when visitors and workers begin to gruesomely die shortly thereafter, one worker suspects the box may be cursed by a killer clown dwelling within.

Written, directed and produced by Lawrence Fowler, The Jack in the Box stars Ethan Taylor, Robert Nairne and Lucy-Jane Quinlan. The film arrives on Digital HD and DVD May 5.

The Midnight Gospel

The next animated series by Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward is Netflix's The Midnight Gospel, and it looks to be a mature audience-oriented, psychedelic acid trip. In the upcoming animated series, a young man uses a mysterious device to travel across different realities where he interviews colorful figures about the nature of life and identity.

Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World

The popular anime series Re:ZERO is coming to Crunchyroll with a new OVA later this year. In addition to being added to the digital anime streaming platform this month, the OVA will receive an official English dub through the service at a later date.

Created by Tappei Nagatsuku and Shinichirou Otsuka, Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World will be available to stream on Crunchyroll on April 30, with an English-dubbed OVA available at a later date.

Shadowverse

Among Crunchyroll's latest anime series available to stream is Shadowverse. An adaption of the popular mobile video game of the same name, the anime series sees a young student discover a smartphone with the eponymous game installed on it. The boy quickly finds himself drawn into the competitive world of Shadowverse, forging new friendships and rivalries in the high-stakes trading card game.

Based on the video game franchise of the same name, the anime adaptation of Shadowverse is available to stream now on Crunchyroll.

Snowpiercer

Years before helming Parasite, Academy Award-winning South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho's first major Hollywood film was an adaptation of the French graphic novel Snowpiercer by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette, in which a deadly new Ice Age forces humanity to shelter on a high-speed, globe-traversing train. An adaption of the post-apocalyptic story is coming to television on TNT, with Joon-ho on board as an executive producer.

Stargirl

Next month, Stargirl, the latest DC Universe original series, premieres. A new teaser for the upcoming DCTV series, created by Geoff Johns, showcases both the Justice Society of America headquarters and the assembled Injustice Society, which menaces the teenage superhero as she takes on the legacy of Starman.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond

The Walking Dead television universe is about to get a lot bigger with the new spinoff series The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The upcoming AMC show shared a new teaser trailer that connected it with the original Walking Dead series and fellow spinoff Fear the Walking Dead, and united all through with the symbol of the sinister organization responsible for the kidnapping of Rick Grimes in the main series' ninth season.
