With the end of May 2021 in sight, blockbuster movie season is in full swing as streaming platforms and television networks begin unveiling their summer season plans. From HBO Max and Netflix teasing eagerly anticipated series premieres, films and specials to the PlayStation 5 continuing its rollout of next-generation games, audiences will have plenty to keep themselves entertained in the weeks and months to come.
Here are all the biggest and best trailers, teasers and promos for upcoming film, television and video game projects released this past week.
Batman: The Long Halloween, Part 2
While the first part of the animated adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween doesn't drop until next month, Warner Bros. Animation has provided a sneak peek at its second half. As Batman confronts Carmine Falcone, the Holiday Killer remains on the loose while Harvey Dent contemplates skirting the wrong side of the law as pressure mounts. And as Batman's familiar rogues gallery assembles, the Dark Knight is in for a stretch of holidays to remember.
Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One stars Jensen Ackles as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Naya Rivera as Catwoman/Selina Kyle, Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Billy Burke as James Gordon, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man, Troy Baker as Joker, Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Jack Quaid as Alberto, Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy and Alastair Duncan as Alfred, along with Frances Callier, Greg Chun, Gary Leroi Gray and Jim Pirri. The film is scheduled for release on June 22. Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two does not currently have a release date.
Black Lightning
After four seasons, Black Lightning is set to come to an electrifying end, with longtime enemies Jefferson Pierce and Tobias Whale poised for one last showdown. As Tobias attempts to manipulate the people of Freeland to join him, Jefferson's daughter, Lightning, takes on the new chief of police, Ana Lopez, with the fate of Freeland hanging in the balance once again.
Black Lightning stars Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce/Thunder, Christine Adams as Lynn Stewart, Laura Kariuki as Jennifer Pierce, Marvin "Krondon" Jones III as Tobias Whale and James Remar as Peter Gambi. The Season 4 finale will air May 24 on The CW.
Black Summer
Black Summer returns for its second season on Netflix next month, with returning protagonist Rose reuniting with her young daughter Anna. As a harsh winter settles across the landscape, Rose and Anna must contend not only with the frigid climate and rising undead hordes but also roving bands of survivalists as the family must stay one step ahead to endure.
Co-created by John Hyams and Karl Schaefer, Black Summer stars Jamie King, Justin Chu Cary, Kelsey Flower, Bobby Naderi and Christine Lee. Season 2 arrives on Netflix June 17.
Call of Duty
Call of Duty is taking a page from '80s action movies with its next online update as John Rambo and Die Hard's John McClane and Nakatomi Plaza both enter the fray. Coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone, both Rambo and McClane will be added as Legendary Operators while players battle it out at the original Die Hard's setting, with its own set of specially themed missions.

Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes
A gameplay trailer was released for House of Ashes, the third installment of Bandai Namco's Dark Pictures Anthology video games. The horror anthology's latest title takes place in an ancient temple unearthed in 2003 Iraq, as American troops move into the Middle Eastern country. As a soldier falls into the underground ruins during a battle against the Iraqi military, she discovers a monster lurking in the shadows hunting her.
Developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco, Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is scheduled to release later this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Fear Street
Netflix is adapting popular horror author R.L. Stine's book series Fear Street into a trilogy of scary movies to premiere over the course of this July. A teaser trailer has the residents of Shadyside, Ohio recount the dark history behind their town, setting up the trilogy's unifying premise as different movies explore Shadyside in 1994, 1978 and 1666, each with its own sinister sense of terror.
Directed and co-written by Leigh Janiak, Fear Street stars Kiana Madeira, Olivia Welch, Benjamin Flores Jr., Darrell Britt-Gibson, Ashley Zuckerman, Fred Hechinger, Julia Rehwald, Jeremy Ford and Gillian Jacobs. Part One: 1994 begins streaming July 2, followed by Part Two: 1978 on July 9 and Part Three: 1666 on July 16.
The Flash
As The Flash Season 7 reaches its halfway point, Barry Allen confronts the source of his superpowers head-on as the living incarnation of the Speed Force, Nora, targets his wife and new Forces unleashed across Central City. Fresh off Nora's latest attack, a shaken Barry admits to Joe West that he doesn't know what to do next, as Barry may have to destroy his out-of-control power source to save the day.
The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh. New episodes air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Friends: The Reunion
It's been over fifteen years since Friends aired its series finale in 2004, and the main cast is reassembling on the familiar sets of the enormously popular sitcom for HBO Max's Friends: The Reunion. A new trailer shows the cast quizzing each other on trivia behind the show and their respective characters as they happily embrace the nostalgia of being together in the mock Manhattan apartment where they filmed ten seasons of fan-favorite television show.
Friends: The Reunion arrives on HBO Max May 27, and all 236 episodes of Friends are currently available to stream on the platform.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania
The fourth and reportedly final installment of the Hotel Transylvania franchise, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, puts the entire monster mash on its head by introducing a device that can transform the human characters into monsters and vice versa. With Dracula now a mere mortal, the transformed ensemble must find a way to restore themselves before it's too late.
Directed by Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania stars Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Brian Hull, Asher Blinkoff, Brad Abrell, Fran Drescher, Jim Gaffigan and Molly Shannon. The film arrives in theaters July 23.
Legends of Tomorrow
The Legends of Tomorrow crew's latest time-traveling adventure takes them to the heart of the 1960s Cuban Missile Crisis as aliens interfering with history seek to make the Cold War go nuclear. As Mick Rory takes point and plots to steal a nuclear warhead while confronting the aliens, Zari Tarazi and Nate Heywood set out to defuse the situation by conferring with President John F. Kennedy directly.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Shayan Sobhian, Lisseth Chavez and Raffi Barsoumian. Season 6 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
One of the biggest PlayStation 5 exclusive titles coming this year is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, reuniting the eponymous duo as they go on a dimension-hopping mission to save the entire multiverse. The game's latest trailer provides a showcase of the weapons and gadgets available for Ratchet and Clank to use as they tour parallel dimensions to thwart Doctor Nefarious.
Developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart arrives on PlayStation 5 June 11.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness
While millions of gamers worldwide delve into Resident Evil Village, a much different take on the Resident Evil franchise premieres this July with the CG animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. A new trailer shows Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield reuniting just as Washington, D.C. comes under attack from a new wave of zombies before their mission expands to an investigation in Shanghai.
Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness stars Nick Apostolides as Leon S. Kennedy, Stephanie Panisello as Claire Redfield, Ray Chase as Jason, Jona Xiao as Shen May, Billy Kametz as Patrick, Joe J. Thomas as Graham, Doug Stone as Wilson and Brad Venable as Ryan. The CG anime premieres on Netflix July 8.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins
The G.I. Joe franchise is returning to the big screen in a big way this July in the reboot origin film Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins. The first look trailer reveals the ninja hero battling enemies in a high-speed chase, including glimpses at several fan-favorite G.I. Joe characters entering the fray. And while the ninja is perhaps best known for staying silent and masked, the aspiring warrior is clearly unmasked and vocal before following his destiny.
Directed by Robert Schwentke, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, Andre Koji as Storm Shadow, Iko Uwais as Hard Master, Úrsula Corberó as Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko and Tahehiro Hira as Kenta. The film arrives in theaters on July 23.
Space Jam: A New Legacy
As the basketball matchup of the millennium is taking shape in the upcoming sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy, Granny takes center stage in the latest promo for the epic crossover. Busting out breakdance moves on her walker before issuing a challenge to the Goon Squad, Granny enjoys a martini during halftime, earning a scolding from Lebron James to keep her head properly in the game.
Space Jam: A New Legacy stars LeBron James, Don Cheadle, Zendaya and Sonequa Martin-Green. The film arrives in theaters and on HBO Max July 16.
Superman & Lois
One of the biggest reveals in Superman & Lois was that its version of Lex Luthor came from an alternate universe that was devastated by its evil incarnation of the Man of Steel. A new promo for the series has Luthor warn Lois Lane of how history is shaping to repeat itself unless he acts against her husband to ensure this Earth doesn't suffer the same fate.

Sweet Tooth
Jeff Lemire's universally acclaimed Vertigo Comics series Sweet Tooth is being adapted into a television series by Netflix next month. The upcoming series' first full trailer shows a young human-deer hybrid named Gus as he navigates a post-apocalyptic wasteland populated with roving bands and scheming despots while discovering the truth about his mysterious background.
Sweet Tooth stars Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Aliza Vellani, Stefania LaVie Owen, Dania Ramirez and Neil Sandilands, with Will Forte and James Brolin. The series premieres June 4 on Netflix.
Tuca & Bertie
While the animated series Tuca & Bertie was cancelled by Netflix after its inaugural season, the show found a new lease on life at Adult Swim, with a second season coming next month. As Tuca celebrates her continuing sobriety and contemplates embarking on a new relationship, Bertie and Speckle live together happily before Tuca inevitably reenters their lives once again.
Created by Lisa Hanawalt, Tuca & Bertie stars Tiffany Haddish as Tuca, Ali Wong as Bertie and Steve Yuen as Speckle. Season 2 premiers on Sunday, June 13 on Adult Swim.
