As April 2021 comes to a close, trailers for upcoming projects on HBO Max, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and Apple TV+ showcased a lot of new footage. Adventure Time: Distant Lands - Together Again

Jake and Finn are reuniting for another fantasy journey in the upcoming Adventure Time HBO Max special Adventure Time: Distant Lands - Together Again. Following BMO, Marceline the Vampire Queen and Princess Bubblegum's own, standalone adventures, the upcoming special has Finn and Jake undertake what is teased as their biggest adventure ever.

Created by Pendleton Ward, Adventure Time: Distant Lands' first two specials, "BMO" and "Obsidian," are streaming now on HBO Max. The third special, "Together Again," premieres on HBO Max May 20.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point

The Dark Knight is coming to the popular online game Fortnite, with the new tie-in comic book series Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point exploring exactly how the Caped Crusader and his supporting cast wide up on The Island. A motion comic trailer shows an extra-dimensional tear opening up in the skies above Gotham City and Batman investigating, only to find himself in the strange, chaotic world from the game.

Written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Reilly Brown and Nelson Faro DeCastro, Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #1 is on sale now.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

The enormously successful Conjuring franchise is going in a sinister new direction for its third main installment The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. As paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren investigate a grisly murder linked to suspected demonic possession, the film series deviates from its usual haunted house format as the Warrens' investigation accompanies the resulting trial.

Directed by Michael Chaves, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It stars Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Ruairi O'Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook and Julian Hilliard. The film arrives in theaters and on HBO Max June 4.

Dexter

With Dexter returning for a revival season eight years after its original series finale, the serial killer with a heart of gold makes his comeback in a new promo. The teaser shows a wintry landscape. There's a fire burning in the background and an axe embedded in a stump in the foreground. Michael C. Hall's familiar Dexter Morgan is heard looking forward to getting back to his bloody nature as the promo comes to a close.

Created by Clyde Phillips, Dexter stars Michael C. Hall, Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah, Jack Alcott, Jamie Chung and Oscar Wahlberg. Showtime's revival series has not yet announced its premiere date.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

While Jurassic World: Dominion may have been pushed back by a full year, the Netflix original animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous returns for its third season next month. A new trailer shows what appears to be the Indoraptor from 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom menacing the stranded characters on Isla Nublar as the links to Fallen Kingdom gradually become more apparent.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous stars Paul-Mike’l Williams as Darius, Jenna Ortega as Brooklynn, Ryan Potter as Kenji, Raini Rodriguez as Sammy, Sean Giambrone as Ben and Kausar Mohammed as Yaz. Season 3 arrives on Netflix May 21.

Legacies

While Legacies main character Josie Saltzman assumed her dark half had been destroyed, her twisted doppelgänger returns in Season 3. A promo teases a rematch between the two Josies as Dark Josie rises after her apparent defeat in the second season finale. As Josie recalls her antagonistic history with her evil half, Dark Josie reminds her that inner darkness can never fully be destroyed.

Legacies stars Danielle Rose Russell, Jenny Boyd, Kaylee Bryant, Quincy Fouse, Aria Shahghasemi, Peyton Alex Smith, Matt Davis, Chris Lee, Ben Levin and Leo Howard. New episodes return on May 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

Love Death + Robots

One of the most stunning original animated series on Netflix is the anthology series Love Death + Robots and a new volume is set to premiere on the premium streaming service next month. The trailer for Vol. 2 highlights the variety of different animation styles across each of the standalone tales, from stylized, hand-drawn stories and photorealistic CG weaving a new set of science fiction stories.

Love Death + Robots Vol. 2 releases on Netflix May 14. Vol. 3 will be released in 2022.

M.O.D.O.K.

A new supervillain is coming to the Marvel Universe next month in Hulu's original animated series M.O.D.O.K. A trailer for the new series reveals that the mental organism designed only for killing's wife is secretly being romanced by the superhero Wonder Man while he's preoccupied trying to conquer the world through his terrorist organization A.I.M. In addition to the usual trailer, Hulu has released a NSFW version ahead of the series' premiere.

Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. stars Patton Oswalt as M.O.D.O.K., Aimee Garcia as Jodie, Ben Schwartz as Lou, Melissa Fumero as Melissa, Wendi McLendon-Covey as Monica Rappaccini, Beck Bennett as Austin Van Der Sleet, Jon Daly as Super Adaptoid and Sam Richardson as Gary. The series premieres May 21 on Hulu.

My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero

One of the biggest anime franchises in the world right now is My Hero Academia and the superhero manga/anime series is about to get a new mobile game with My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero. Deku Midoriya and all his familiar classmates battle against one another to see exactly which aspiring superhero is truly the strongest among them, unleashing their signature powers -- or Quirks -- in action.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning

The live-action adaptation of the iconic anime franchise Rurouni Kenshin returns with two new films this year, including a prequel film Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning. The prequel will detail Kenshin's past, including how he receives his signature, cross-shaped facial scar and his relationship with Yukishiro Tomoe. Preceding the prequel will be a film following Kenshin taking on the new villain Yukishiro Enishi. That premieres in Japan this month.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final will premiere in Japanese theaters on April 23, and Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning will premiere on June 4.

RWBY: Grim Eclipse - Definitive Edition

Rooster Teeth's popular fantasy franchise RWBY is getting a definitive edition of the hack-and-slash video game RWBY: Grimm Eclipse on the Nintendo Switch next month. A gameplay trailer shows the fan-favorite quartet in action together as they fight against the dark armies from the villainous Grimm and Doctor Merlot, with the heroes using everything from magic to enchanted weapons to turn the tide of battle.

Developed by Rooster Teeth Games and Aspyr, RWBY: Grimm Eclipse - Definitive Edition arrives for the Nintendo Switch on May 13.

Shang Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe poised to return to the big screen this summer, the martial arts side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be revealed with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The thrilling trailer for the upcoming film shows the eponymous superhero recall his martial arts upbringing under his cruel father as he finds that he cannot outrun his own destiny when his past resurfaces.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Daniel Callaham, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu, Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Jiang Nan, Meng'er Zhang. Ronny Chieng, Fala Chen and Jiang Len. The film arrives in theaters Sept. 3.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch

While Star Wars: The Clone Wars may have come to an epic conclusion last year with its long-awaited seventh season, the adventures of Clone Force 99 will continue in the upcoming animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Set after the Clone Wars, the squad of elite soldiers deviate from their genetic programming to become a ragtag team of mercenaries taking dangerous jobs around the galaxy as the Galactic Empire tightens its grip.

Created by Dave Filoni, Star Wars: The Bad Batch stars Dee Bradley Baker and Ming-Na Wen. The series premieres May 4 on Disney+.

Supergirl

In order to save Supergirl from his imprisonment inside the Phantom Zone, her friends must travel back to the past to recover some of the younger Kara's DNA to facilitate her extra-dimensional escape. As the heroes scramble decades into the past, they encounter a young Cat Grant while trying to avoid altering history as they know it.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Nicole Maines as Dreamer and Jesse Rath as Brainiac-5. New episodes air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

Ted Lasso

One of the biggest feel-good television series of the year has been Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso, starring Jason Sudeikis. Following its titular college football coach that surprisingly takes on a job coaching an English Premier League team where he quickly wins over his players and staff with his earnestly kind approach to coaching professional sports.

Developed by Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly, Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, Ted Lasso stars Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed and Juno Temple. Season 2 premieres July 23 on Apple TV+.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge

After an old-school, arcade-style beat'em-up starring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was previously announced, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch. A teaser trailer confirmed the Switch version while showcasing vibrant, sprite-driven gameplay as the Turtles brawl through the Foot Clan in a new adventure.

Developed by Dotemu and Tribute Games, in association with Nickelodeon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge does not currently have a release date.
