January 2022 is already halfway done, along with the year's first wave of major theatrical releases and television premieres as the entertainment industry emerges from the holiday season lull. This includes a line of new animated series and the return of the iconic slasher movie franchise Scream to theaters worldwide, starting 2022 on a strong note and plenty of big premieres waiting in the wings, with an impressive set of trailers to keep audiences hyped.

Here are all the biggest and best trailers, teasers and promos released the second week of 2022, from original series premieres on Prime Video, Peacock and Paramount+ to feature films making their debut on Netflix and Disney+.

Bel-Air

The iconic sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is being adapted into a dramatic original series on Peacock next month, receiving the support and involvement of Will Smith as executive producer. Simply titled Bel-Air, the series trades out the laugh track and pratfalls for a more serious take on a high schooler named Will sent from West Philadelphia to live with his family in their affluent California neighborhood, changing up familiar stories to feature a decidedly dramatic edge.

Developed for television by Will Smith and Morgan Cooper, Bel-Air premieres Feb. 13 on Peacock.

Bigbug

Acclaimed French filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet returns to helm Bigbug, a genre-blending original movie for Netflix premiering next month. Set in the year 2050, several French suburban families find themselves taking shelter when a group of rogue androids embarks on a full-blown revolution, blending comedy, science fiction and horror as the families try to survive. Jeunet previously directed the universally praised Amélie in 2001, this time delivering a much more subversively twisted story.

Directed and co-written by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Bigbug premieres Feb. 11 on Netflix.

Big Nate

Lincoln Peirce's long-running comic strip Big Nate is being adapted into a CG animated series on Paramount+, with a first look trailer revealing the precocious adolescent Nate Wright getting into all sorts of hijinks with his friends and family. With Peirce serving as a creative consultant, the animated series has Nate determined to prove to his sixth-grade classmates how cool he is while dealing with the ups and downs that come with middle school.

Big Nate premieres on Feb. 17 on Paramount+.

The Bob's Burgers Movie

After experiencing numerous, pandemic-related delays, The Bob's Burgers Movie is finally set to open in theaters this spring. Featuring the cast and crew behind the popular animated series, the feature film continuation takes the Belcher family into the realm of a full-on musical comedy as a sinkhole forms directly in front of the family restaurant, forcing the Belchers to waylay their summer vacation in favor of keeping the family business afloat.

Directed by Loren Bouchard and Bernard Derriman, with Bouchard also serving as a producer and co-writer, The Bob's Burgers Movie opens in theaters on May 27.

Eternals

After opening in theaters this past November, Eternals is now available to stream on Disney+ at no additional cost to subscribers. To celebrate the latest Marvel Studios film's arrival on the digital platform, Disney has released a new trailer showcasing the epic action in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie as each of the ancient heroes unveil their unique powers.

Directed and co-written by Chloe Zhao, Eternals is available to stream now on Disney+.

Human Resources

The popular Netflix adult animated series Big Mouth is getting its own spinoff series this March with Human Resources, leaning into the fantasy side of the comedy series. With the familiar Hormone Monsters and Love Bugs playing a more prominent role, the upcoming animated series trailer is presented as a mock recruitment ad to join the monsters that personify human emotions in a goofy workplace comedy.

Human Resources premieres on March 18 on Netflix.

Inu-Oh

The celebrated Japanese filmmaker Masaaki Yuasa is returning with a new anime film capturing the beauty of historical Japanese culture in Inu-Oh. Set in 14th century Japan, the movie follows the eponymous protagonist as he traverses a land consumed by fiery conflicts and ancient ghosts, with Inu-Oh wearing a striking mask and flowing robes to conceal his true appearance from others.

Directed by Masaaki Yuasa, Inu-Oh will receive a North American release through GKIDS sometime in 2022.

jackass forever

Over a decade after 2010's jackass 3D, the stunt-prank franchise is returning to theaters next month with jackass forever. The original cast of merry pranksters and daredevils are back to endure more absolutely brutal punishment, from taking groin shots to being knocked through the air by charging bulls. A new generation of performers join in on the fun this time but the rookies quickly learn that their veteran counterparts can still more than take a punch... literally.

Produced, directed and co-written by Jeff Tremaine, jackass forever opens in theaters Feb. 4.

The Legend of Vox Machina

The fantasy tabletop world of Critical Role is getting an animated series adaptation for its first campaign with the Prime Video original series The Legend of Vox Machina. A red-band trailer for the upcoming series revels in the hard-drinking and harder-swearing antics of Vox Machina's guild of misfit adventurers as they prepare for their next epic journey, with madcap hijinks sure to ensue.

Created by Matthew Mercer, The Legend of Vox Machina premieres Jan. 28 on Prime Video.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus

A bold new era for the Pokémon franchise is coming to the Nintendo Switch this month, with the prequel spinoff game Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Taking place in the historical period of the Sinnoh Region, an extended gameplay trailer shows off the game's emphasis on 3D exploration as players learn to trust the pocket monsters while searching for the region's Legendary Pokémon.

Developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, Pokémon Legends: Arceus goes on sale on Jan. 28 for the Nintendo Switch.

Scream

The fifth Scream film kicks off 2022 and it's poised to deliver the bloody thrills that have made the slasher franchise endearing to fans for over 25 years. Bringing back the core trio of Woodsboro survivors to help a new generation deal with another Ghostface serial killer rampaging across their hometown, there are plenty of callbacks to the 1996 original film as the mass murderer steadily adds to their body count.

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, Scream is now out in theaters.

Supernatural Academy

Jaymin Eve's popular novel series The Supernatural Academy is being adapted as an animated series for Peacock this month, with the trailer revealing twin sisters Jessa and Mischa enrolling in the eponymous magical private school. As the two girls hone their abilities, they encounter all sorts of myths and monsters, including several hair-raising classmates, before learning they have to save the world and put their skills to the test.

Developed for television by Gillian Horvath, Supernatural Academy premieres Jan. 20 on Peacock.
