With Halloween looming on the horizon, there are still plenty of tricks and treats to entertain audiences as October 2021 approaches its close. Fresh off the heels of New York Comic-Con and DC FanDome, the hype train isn't slowing down any time soon as a fresh wave of trailers and promos for November's big premieres as the 2021-2022 regular television season kicks into high gear and this year's holiday season blockbusters begin to take shape.Here are all this week's biggest and best trailers, teasers and promos for film, television and video games, including the biggest premieres coming to Hulu and Netflix throughout November.
Animaniacs
After the Animaniacs successfully made their return with a new revival series on Hulu last year, complete with the main original voice actors reprising their roles as the wacky Warner siblings, the trio is back for even more irreverently zany fun with its upcoming second season. Yakko pokes fun at the animated series' change to a digital platform meaning marketing is tailored to viewer search history, before a montage of the fun-loving ensemble's latest antics is showcased.
Created by Tom Ruegger, Animaniacs Season 2 premieres Nov. 5 on Hulu.
Cowboy Bebop
As one of the most beloved anime series of all time, there was some question about how Netflix's upcoming live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop would translate. The latest teaser promo for the eagerly anticipated series has the show's main characters evoking the anime's hip, stylistic approach and freewheeling interpersonal dynamics, complete with cool, color-coded swagger.
Developed for television by André Nemec, Cowboy Bebop premieres Nov. 19 on Netflix.
Eternals
November is poised to kick off with a big-screen return for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Eternals, bringing the powerful race of ancients to the forefront when the monstrous Deviants resurface after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The latest promo for the upcoming MCU film reveals that the shared cinematic universe is aware of the existence of Superman, with Ikaris mistaken for the Last Son of Krypton for his similar look and power set.
Directed and co-written by Chloe Zhao, Eternals opens in theaters on Nov. 5.
The Flash
The Flash is racing back for its eighth season next month, with Barry Allen teaming up with much of the Arrowverse to kick off the season with a multi-episode event, "Armageddon." Confronting the fiendish supervillain Despero, Barry realizes he is punching above his weight and reassembles the Justice League formed at the end of Crisis on Infinite Earths to help him overcome his new foe.
Developed for television by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, The Flash Season 8 premieres Nov. 16 on The CW.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045
Ahead of Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045's Season 2 premiere, a compilation anime film re-editing the first season into a single feature film is set to premiere on Netflix next month. Protagonist Motoko Kusanagi takes center stage in a trailer for the CG anime film, now bearing the full title Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 - Sustainable Warfare, as the cyberpunk fever dream teases its neon-soaked thrills.
Directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 - Sustainable Warfare premieres Nov. 12 on Netflix.
Hit-Monkey
The wildest Marvel assassin of them all is coming in the upcoming Marvel Television animated series Hit-Monkey, slated to premiere on Hulu next month. The latest trailer for the violent, new show has Hit-Monkey dispatch his targets with lethal efficiency while contending with the arrival of the fearsome Lady Bullseye, setting up a contract killer showdown for the ages.
Developed for television by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, Hit-Monkey premieres Nov. 17 on Hulu.
Mob Psycho 100
It's been over two years since the anime adaptation of ONE's Mob Psycho 100 concluded its second season and Season 3 has been officially confirmed, with a first look providing fans with a look at Shigeo Kageyama's hard-hitting return. The first two seasons' original voice cast and much of the crew will return to helm Season 3, teasing even more off-the-wall action for the popular anime series.
Directed by Takahiro Hasui, Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 is currently in production with no premiere date currently announced. The first two seasons are now available to stream through Crunchyroll and HBO Max.
One Piece
One of the most iconically ubiquitous manga/anime franchise's in the world is One Piece, with the anime adaptation reaching its landmark thousandth episode next month. Based on Eiichiro Oda's bestselling manga series, One Piece is pulling out all the stops to commemorate hitting the impressive anime milestone, with a livestream event hosted by Toei Animation and Funimation.
One Piece's 1000th episode will be available to stream through Funimation on Nov. 20.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus
This January's Pokémon Legends: Arceus has taken a more found-footage approach with its latest trailer that delves into the history of the Pokémon franchise's Sinnoh region, long before the modern-day events of Pokémon Diamond & Pearl. As a Pokémon researcher explores mountains in the region, they are attacked by a furry Pocket Monster, abruptly ending the camera feed.
Developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be released on Jan. 28 for the Nintendo Switch.
Red Notice
One of the most star-studded original movies coming to Netflix this year is the crime caper Red Notice starring Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. Gadot portrays a notorious international art thief who is being tracked by an FBI profiler played by Johnson while Reynolds portrays a rival crook playing both sides. And while Johnson and Reynolds bring the usual muscle, Gadot quickly proves she can more than hold her own against her testosterone-fueled pursuers.
Written, directed and produced by Rawson Marshall Thurber, Red Notice will receive a limited theatrical release on Nov. 5 before arriving on Netflix on Nov. 12.
Riverdale
After the bombshell news announcement that Sabrina Spellman will indeed be appearing in Riverdale Season 6, a new trailer for the upcoming season teases plenty of horror-fueled hijinks coming to the blood-soaked town. As Cheryl Blossom launches her dark magic cult, Archie Andrews is seen finding love with Betty Cooper before Sabrina makes her long-awaited return.
Developed for television by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Riverdale Season 6 premieres Nov. 16 on The CW.
Starfield
The first major Xbox console-exclusive title coming from Bethesda Softworks after the venerable video game studio's acquisition by Microsoft is Starfield. A new trailer introduces players to the game's immersive worlds and competing factions, the United Colonies and Freestar Collective, as they vie for control of a portion of the Milky Way Galaxy known as the Settled Systems.
Developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, Starfield will be released Nov. 11 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Super Crooks
Following this year's Jupiter's Legacy, bestselling comic book creator Mark Millar is about to unleash a different kind of super-powered original series on Netflix. Adapting Millar and Leinil Francis Yu's 2012 comic book miniseries, Super Crooks provides an anime twist on the world of supervillains, with a group of super-powered criminals pulling off one epic score... if they can learn to work together.
Directed by Motonobu Hori, Super Crooks premieres Nov. 25 on Netflix.
Sword Art Online
The latest Sword Art Online anime film has released not one but two trailers this past week to herald its release in Japan next week. Based on the light novel series created by Reki Kawahara and abec, Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night showcases Asuna and Kirito attempting to escape the deadly virtual reality fantasy world they've both been trapped inside.
Directed by Ayako KÅno, Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night premieres Oct. 30 in Japan, with a limited North American theatrical release slated for Dec. 3.
Uncharted
After years of development delays, Sony's beloved video game franchise Uncharted is finally making the leap to a live-action feature film adaptation next year. A first look trailer shows fan-favorite protagonist Nathan Drake's first meeting with eventual best friend and mentor Victor "Sully" Sullivan while teasing plenty of the action-adventure mayhem that the video game series is known for.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted opens in theaters Feb. 18.
