August may be halfway done, but the heat doesn't appear to breaking any time soon. AFK Arena

The mobile RPG AFK Arena will get a surprise, new playable character: Assassin's Creed II's Ezio Auditore, who has been added to the mobile game in association with Ubisoft. The trailer shows players take on Ezio's signature hooded appearance before diving off a skyscraper into the action as the game continues to thrill millions of players worldwide a little over a year since its release.

Developed by Lilith Games, AFK Arena is available now on Google Play and the App Store.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

This past week saw Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wrap its seven-season run with an epic series finale that pit the eponymous intelligence agency against an armada of invading extraterrestrials known as the Chronicoms. The trailer for the double-sized finale recounts the entire history of the show and its fan-favorite characters, showcasing how they have progressed since the series premiere in 2013 before setting them up for the cosmic final battle.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Iain De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Elizabeth Henstridge and Clark Gregg. The series finale airs Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Away

Hilary Swank returns to television for a new original series Away in which she stars as astronaut and mother Emma Green, who leaves behind her family on Earth to lead a mission to Mars. Separated from her family for three years, Green must learn to trust her international crew to survive the harsh landscape while her daughter has to fend for herself when her father grows gravely ill.

Releasing Sept. 4 on Netflix, Away is created by Andrew Hinderaker and stars Hilary Swank as Commander Emma Green. The series also features Josh Charles, Talitha Eliana Bateman, Vivian Wu, Ato Essandoh, Adam Irigoyen, Mark Ivanir, Ray Panthaki, Monique Gabriela Curnen and more.

The Boys

With The Boys Season 2 premiere less than a month away, a NSFW new promo has protagonist Billy Butcher issue a final challenge to The Seven in his typical, foul-mouthed manner. Revealing that he once admired superheroes as a child, Butcher has since committed his life to bringing them in line or bringing them down as he warns the Supes that his team is coming for them, setting the battle lines for Season 2.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. Season 2 premieres Sept. 4 on Amazon Prime Video.

Control

To commemorate a year since its launch, the widely acclaimed video game Control is getting an Ultimate Edition this month, including both DLC expansions and other enhancements to the game. Following a woman named Jesse Faden investigating the whereabouts of her missing brother, the game has players use supernatural abilities and weaponry while navigating mind-bending environments. The Ultimate Edition can be upgraded to for free for players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for those that purchase the home console versions.

Developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games, Control: Ultimate Edition will be released for PC on Aug. 27 and on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Sept. 10. A PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X release date has not yet been announced.

Cyberpunk 2077

One of the most eagerly anticipated video games of the year is Cyberpunk 2077, acclaimed developer CD Projekt Red's follow-up to its award-winning Witcher trilogy. The latest trailer reveals the backstories for each of the three playable characters gamers can choose from as they team up with Keanu Reeves' character Johnny Silverhand as he guides players through the Night City.

Developed by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC Nov. 19, and the game will also be available for the upcoming Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 next-gen consoles.

DC FanDome

DC Entertainment has been pulling out all the stops to promote its upcoming online fan event DC FanDome, which is set for next week. In addition to actors from the Arrowverse and DC Extended Universe sharing individual videos promoting the virtual event, a pair of promos for the 24-hour event teased how DC Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee designed the overall presentation and promoted DC Kids FanDome, with the latter as an all age-friendly alternative running concurrently with the main event.

DC FanDome and DC Kids FanDome will both launch online on Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. EST.

The Devil All the Time

The next Netflix original movie The Devil All the Time features an impromptu Marvel Cinematic Universe reunion between stars Tom Holland and Sebastian Stan. Set in a small Ohio town in the time period between World War II and the Vietnam War, the film adapts the Donald Ray Pollock novel of the same name and stars Holland as a young man whose family is threatened by shady figures in his hometown. As Holland's character strikes back, the town's ugly soul is exposed, as old secrets and tensions rise to the forefront.

Directed by Antonio Campos, The Devil All the Time stars Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Jason Clarke, Riley Keough, Sebastian Stan, Bill Skarsgård, Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling, Haley Bennett and Pokey LaFarge. The film arrives on Netflix Sept. 16.

Freaks: You're One of Us

Germany is getting into the superhero genre in its upcoming action-comedy film Freaks: You're One of Us. The Netflix original movie has a mother discover that she and her co-worker at a local fast-food restaurant have developed superpowers after ceasing their prescribed medication. Learning that everyday people possess powers, the two find themselves at the center of a wide conspiracy that could upend their entire lives.

Directed by Felix Binder and written by Marc O. Seng, Freaks -- You're One of Us stars Cornelia Gröschel, Tim Oliver Schultz, Wotan Wilke Möhring, Gisa Flake, Nina Kunzendorf, Ralph Herforth, Frederic Linkemann, Finnlay Berger and Thelma Buabeng. The film arrives on Netflix Sept. 2.

Marvel Realm of Champions

Kabam continues its partnership with Marvel Games for the upcoming mobile fighting game Marvel Realm of Champions. Taking place on Battleworld after the rise of the evil Maestro, several fragmented realms take inspiration from the classic Marvel Super Heroes to train their own champions to continue their heroic legacy and reign supreme on Battleworld building upon the success of Kabam's previous popular mobile title Marvel Contest of Champions.

Developed by Kabam, Marvel Realm of Champions arrives on the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices later this year.

Mulan

Fans were surprised when Disney opted to move its live-action remake of Mulan to be released simultaneously on Disney+ alongside its tentative theatrical opening next month. The film's final trailer has the eponymous Chinese warrior take up arms to defend her country from invaders, with epic battles showing Mulan in action as she inspires an entire nation and becomes a bonafide legend.

Directed by Niki Caro, Disney's Mulan stars Yifei Liu as Mulan, Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Jason Scott Lee as Böri Khan and Yoson An as Chen Honghui, with Gong Li as Xianniang and Jet Li as the Emperor. The film arrives on Disney+ and in theaters Sept. 4.

Noblesse

Crunchyroll continues to expand its slate of original anime programming with an adaptation of the bestselling WEBTOON series Noblesse. The anime series has an ancient vampire named Raizel freed in modern-day Seoul, South Korea and enroll in a local high school to learn how far humanity has progressed. As Rai makes new friends, new supernatural threats surface forcing him to unleash his own incredible abilities to defend them.

Based on the manhwa of the same name by Son Jeho and Lee Kwangsu, Noblesse is directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto and premieres on Crunchyroll this October.

Saved by the Bell

NBCUniversal's new streaming service Peacock is moving forward with its star-studded Saved by the Bell revival series, combining the cast of the classic 90s sitcom with a new generation of characters in the present-day iteration of Bayside High. A new trailer for the series references fan-favorite and infamous moments from the original series, including Jessie Spano's divisive addiction to caffeine pills for a very special episode of the show.

The Saved by the Bell Peacock continuation series stars original cast members Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley, as well as newcomers Josie Totah, Mitchell Hoog, Belmont Cameli, Haskiri Velazquez, Alycia Pascual-Pena and John Michael Higgins, who takes over for Dennis Haskins as Bayside High's principal. The series has yet to receive a premiere date.

The Umbrella Academy

While The Umbrella Academy may have premiered its second season on Netflix last month, executive producer Jeff F. King has shared a new promo for the Dark Horse Comics adaptation. Done in the style of a 1980s sitcom's opening credit sequence, the promo has kitschy upbeat music, grainy video quality, and large, bright font. The promo includes humorous clips from the second season as its main characters each get a moment in the spotlight.

The Umbrella Academy stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher and Justin H. Min, with Ritu Arya, Yusuf Gatewood, Marin Ireland, Jordan Claire Robbins, Kate Walsh and Colm Feore. Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.

The Walking Dead Onslaught

A new VR experience is coming to The Walking Dead, but this time it's tied directly to the popular AMC television series. Launching next month, The Walking Dead Onslaught has players team up with Daryl Dixon in an intense campaign mode as they traverse a landscape overrun by the ravenous undead. The game also features a Scavenger Mode, allowing gamers to play as Daryl, Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Carol Peletier as they embark on supply runs to build and improve their community. The game is the second VR experience for the survival horror franchise after this past January's The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.

Developed by Survios, The Walking Dead Onslaught will be released for PlayStation VR, Steam VR and Oculus on Sept. 29.

You Cannot Kill David Arquette

One of the most controversial figures in the world of professional wrestling is actor-turned-wrestler David Arquette, who made his pro wrestling debut in 2000 with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he briefly held the championship title. Arquette's career shift is the subject of the upcoming documentary film You Cannot Kill David Arquette as Arquette overcomes widespread fan backlash and his own health issues while attempting to compete in the independent wrestling circuit despite his age.

Directed by David Darg and Price James, You Cannot Kill David Arquette will be available on digital HD on Aug. 28.
