While Comic-Con@Home and the Microsoft Xbox showcase have both wrapped, there were still plenty of new trailers and promos released in the final week of July 2020 to keep fans excited as summer television begins to come to an end. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

As the seventh and final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. draws closer to its end, protagonist Daisy Johnson has met her long-lost half-sister Kora, a powerful Inhuman. Picked up by the team after they traveled back in time to 1983, Kora proves to be more insidious than they thought. She's plotting to reshape the course of the future with lethal force, leading her to come to blows with her sister in a new promo for the flagship Marvel Cinematic Universe television series.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s final season airs Wednesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on ABC. The series stars Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Iain De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Elizabeth Henstridge and Clark Gregg.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The second free summer update to the popular Nintendo Switch game Animal Crossing: New Horizons is here, allowing players to visit other islands in their dreams and finally back-up save their islands. And, to celebrate the last full month of summer, the update includes weekly firework shows every Sunday, providing villagers a chance to assemble and enjoy their accomplishments in the August night sky. A promo for the update hints at Halloween-themed content coming this autumn to keep players invested in the game.

Batman: Death in the Family

Warner Animation's next DC Animated Movie has been officially announced; it will be an adaptation of the classic 1988 storyline Batman: Death in the Family by Jim Starlin and Jim Aparo. The upcoming film will follow Jason Todd's fateful encounter with the Joker and has Bruce Greenwood, John DiMaggio and Vincent Martella reprising their roles as Batman, the Clown Prince of Crime and the young Jason Todd from the 2010 animated movie Batman: Under the Hood. The announcement trailer reveals the twist that the movie will be interactive, allowing audiences to choose the characters' paths at vital moments in a nod to the comic's original polling system to determine its outcome.

Produced, written and directed by Brandon Vietti, Batman: Death in the Family stars Bruce Greenwood, John DiMaggio, Vincent Martella, Zehra Fazal and Gary Cole. It is scheduled to be released this fall on Blu-ray and digital HD.

Battletoads

The fan-favorite, '90s beat'em-up franchise Battletoads is coming to the Xbox One for its first new installment in over 25 years. Developer Dlala Studios has unveiled the release-date trailer for its side-scrolling revival, with the eponymous, tubular toads teaming up with the evil Queen from previous games to take on a mutual threat to the galaxy. The game boasts a three-player cooperative multiplayer mode and brings back its notorious vehicle chase sequences, complete with obstacle-filled paths in the franchise's newest entry since 1994's Battletoads Arcade.

Developed by Dlala Studios, in association with Rare, and published by Microsoft, Battletoads will be released on Aug. 20 for the Xbox One and PC.

DC Universe Online

The latest event episode for DC Universe Online has officially launched, bringing players into the "Wonderverse" as Wonder Women from across the DC Multiverse unite to save all of reality. After the Source Wall is broken, the universes begin to collapse on one another, leading the Gods of Olympus to go to war with the New Gods, leaving the DC Universe caught in the crossfire. The event has players team up with the Council of Wonder Women, five different iterations of the superhero from fan-favorite worlds.

Available on Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, DC Universe Online's "Wonderverse" episode releases July 30. The episode is free for active members or $9.99 USD for non-members.

Happy Happy Joy Joy: The Ren & Stimpy Story

One of the most influential animated series from the '90s was Ren & Stimpy, created by John Kricfalusi in 1991. A new documentary film, Happy Happy Joy Joy: The Ren & Stimpy Story, recounts the behind-the-scenes story of the animated show and explores its impact. The film also examines Kricfalusi's vision for the series as well as disturbing allegations against him regarding his underage fans, which affected the production of the series and could taint its legacy.

Directed by Ron Cicero and Kimo Easterwood, Happy Happy Joy Joy: The Ren & Stimpy Story will be released on Aug. 14 and is available for pre-order on iTunes.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

While Jurassic World: Dominion is still a year away, fans can get back to the world of genetically reborn dinosaurs in the upcoming CG animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous this September. A teaser trailer for the series sees a group of teens entering the eponymous park for the trip of their lives only for things to take a terrifying turn when they encounter the ravenous Indominus Rex, an event that lines up with the events of 2015's Jurassic World that led to chaos erupting at the popular theme park.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous arrives on Netflix Sept. 18.

Marvel's Avengers

While the eagerly anticipated video game, Marvel's Avengers, is still over a month away, Square Enix has already begun to hint at its post-launch content. A teaser trailer shows Hawkeye in action, taking down a warehouse full of hostile robots with his trick arrows as Nick Fury indicates the key to the Avengers' future lies in their past. Hawkeye will have his own story mode campaign, which can be played either solo or cooperatively, to further expand the video game incarnation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix, Marvel's Avengers arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC on Sept. 4.

Stargirl

As the inaugural season of Stargirl draws to a close, the DC Universe/CW series has released a promo for its two-part season finale. Titled "Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E." in a direct nod to the original comic series the show is based on, the Injustice Society attacks Courtney Whitmore at home and Pat Dugan at his garage after they learn their superhero identities from Brainwave. The stakes have never been higher for the new Justice Society of America as the assembled villains ambush the heroes when they are at their most vulnerable.

DC Universe's Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl) and Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan (S.T.R.I.P.E.). The series airs Monday on DC Universe and Tuesdays on The CW at 8 pm ET/PT. It also stars Amy Smart, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Trae Romano, Jake Austin Walker, Hunter Sansone, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson and Christopher James Baker.

Star Trek

A new promo highlights the two very different Star Trek series coming to CBS All Access in the last third of the year: Season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery and the new animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. The promo showcases new footage from both series, juxtaposing Discovery's serious exploration of the unknown with Lower Decks' wacky, self-aware sense of humor, as two different Starfleet vessels both boldly go where no one has gone before.

Streaming on CBS All Access, Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Commander Michael Burnham, Doug Jones as Commander Saru, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Commander Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman as Ensign Sylvia Tilly, Shazad Latif as Ash Tyler, Wilson Cruz as Dr. Hugh Culber, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Mary Chieffo as L'Rell, Tig Notaro as Chief Engineer Reno, Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou.
