Whether you're a Batman fan, a LEGO fan, or a LEGO Batman fan, this is pretty cool.
Toys "R" Us is hosting it's very own "The LEGO Batman Movie" building event on Saturday, Feb. 11, just a day after the movie debuts in tehaters.
Your kids (or you, no judgment) can build their own batty version of Chris Pratt's eternally optimistic main character Emmet's car from "The LEGO Movie," and take it home (a look at the final product below). To paraphrase a certain song, everything is awesome... when you get LEGOs for free. The Batman building session takes place from 1 p.m. to 3 pm at participating Toys "R" Us stores, limit one per customer and minifigure not included (more details here).
The flyer also teases an "Arkham Asylum Breakout hunt." Here's hoping that involves the newly released and expansive Arkham Asylum set from the "LEGO Batman Movie" line.
"The LEGO Batman Movie," much like it's predecessor "The LEGO Movie," is perfectly primed for merchandising. The new LEGO sets released ahead of the film have joyously blended elements from different Batman films, shows and comics. LEGO has even made impressive "trailers" for a few of their sets, like this one for The Joker's "Notorious Lowrider."
Directed by Chris McKay and starring Will Arnett as Batman, Michael Cera as Robin, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl and Zach Galifanakis as the Joker, "The LEGO Batman Movie" arrives in theaters on Feb. 10.
