The collectible community is still reeling from all the craziness of Comic-Con International in San Diego. Just about every major company set up shop and showed off the pieces they'll be selling the rest of this year and well into 2015. With so much going on -- including huge showings from Hasbro, Mattel, NECA and the like -- there's a lot to comb through. This week's TOYING AROUND covers a lot of ground, but we'll be back again next week batting clean-up on anything we might have missed.

HASBRO MARVEL SDCC | Hasbro came out swigging during the show with three different presentations focusing on Transformers -- covered fully in this panel report -- Marvel and Star Wars. Let's start off with the Marvel reveals first, which were sent out after the presentation. The 3.75-inch Infinite line will continue next year with a first wave consisting of blue and gray Beasts, Big Time Spider-Man, Bishop, Black Cat and Sandman in both human and sand forms. The second will feature Jugolossus and North Star.

The Marvel Legends Infinite Series takes its cues from the Marvel Studios films and includes Agent Coulson, Maria Hill and Nick Fury from the movies and shows. Spider-Woman and Hellcat will also show up and they all come together to make a Thanos Build-a-Figure. A Spider-Man-themed Legends series will also appear with new figures of Hobgoblin, Spider-Girl, Spidey and Spider-Man 2099.

HOT TOYS SDCC | Hot Toys kicked things off right by announcing that they'll be working on 1/4th scale Star Wars action figures, including ones based on "Star Wars: Episode VII." When the show actually started, perusers were able to swing by their booth and see a variety of debuts including Marty McFly and the DeLorean from "Back to the Future," Ripley from "Aliens," the "Guardians of the Galaxy" gang and plenty more, all of which are over on Hot Toys' Facebook page.

MATTEL SDCC | Mattel unveiled a variety of new collectibles at the event, most of which comes from Masters of the Universe Classics like of He-Man toys. Eldor, Sweet Bee, Gwildor (from the live action film), Arrow, Tongue Lashor, Mermista, Galactic Protector She-Ra, Spinnerella and Snake Armor He-Man. A new vehicle, the Battle Ram, features split-apart playability and a maskless Man-at-Arms figure.

The Masters will get a variety of other toys thanks to the new Giant line which kicks off with foot-tall, old school versions of He-Man, Skeletor, Stratos and Beast Man that will come out monthly between September and December. The MOTU minis will also continue. A variety of different bundles and pre-orders will be available to help catch up, but new 2-packs featuring She-Ra and a Horde Trooper and Jitsu and Mekaneck will be available.

On the DC side of things, Matty showed off the Epic Creations DC Classic TV Series Batman Cowl based on the Adam West series. The company also showed off the DC Universe Super Powers figures which take the classic DC Universe Classics molds and give them new paint jobs to reflect the classic '80s toy line. The line will include Batman, Superman, Gold Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern as The Riddler, Mr. Mxyzptlk and the Collect-and-Connect Kalibak figure.

HASBRO STAR WARS SDCC | Hasbro spent another chunk of SDCC showing off a variety of different Star Wars toys, some based on "Star Wars Rebels," but, as you might expect, nothing from "Episode VII." The Black Series will gain 6-inch versions of a TIE Pilot, Han as a Stormtrooper and Bossk, plus deluxe 2-packs featuring Hoth Han and a Tauntaun and Hoth Luke with a Wampa.

Meanwhile, Leia in her Yavin costume, Chewbacca, Captain Rex, Commander Doom, Dutch Vanders, Vader with Luke's face, Trooper Sergeant and Commander Wolffe join the 3.75-inch Black Series line.

The Mission Series get into the world of "Rebels" with 2-packs featuring Sabine and a Stormtrooper, IGRM and Cikatro, Hera and a Sandtrooper and a pair of Wookiees. "Empire Strikes Back" inspired a bounty hunter set including Bossk and IG-88, while Wicket and a Speer Bike Trooper come from "Return of the Jedi."

Finally, you can't have a Star Wars presentation without some vehicle action. Upcoming offerings will include Phantom, the main ship from "Rebels," along with an AT-DP and an Imperial Transport perfect for getting Stormtroopers where they need to go. NECA SDCC | NECA spread their announcements throughout the show, offering up new ones each day, usually with a particular theme. The first day was all about '80s action heroes with a new 8-inch cloth Snake Plissken from "Escape from New York" debuting and the announcement of a line based on the 1993 video game "Robocop Vs. Terminator." There will be two waves, the first of which features two different Terminators -- Endoskeleton and T-800 with plasma rifle -- and two 'Cops, one with add-on flames, the other sporting fire damage.

The second day was all about apes thanks to the 8-inch cloth Taylor figure from the original "Planet of the Apes" featuring a Charlton Heston likeness. The classic films will also get a second wave of 7-inch figures in October that includes Dr. Zaius, General Ursus and Dr. Zira. "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" figures will also get a second wave, this one with gun-toting Caesar and Koba as well as a new figure, Luca the gorilla.

Giant monsters and their attackers took center stage on Day 3 thanks to new "Pacific Rim" and "Godzilla" toys. An Ultra Deluxe Knifehead standing 7-inches tall will get in on the robot-versus-monster action along with new versions of Gipsy Danger 2.0 and Tacit Ronin in the same scale. The original kaiju, Godzilla, will also get a new figure, this one a 6-inch-tall version based on "Godzilla 1985."

Day 4 was a bit of a mixed bag as NECA showed off the third wave of Scalers, consisting of Batman, Godzilla, Superman, Captain America, Thor and Gipsy Danger from "Pacific Rim." Then there's the fifth series of Mogwai figures which are based on designs Rick Baker created for "Gremlins 2: The New Batch," that weren't actually used in the film. This particular bunch is called Patches, Gary and Zoe.

DIAMOND SELECT TOYS SDCC | Before the convention even started, Diamond Select Toys announced that they have big plans for their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles license. The show actually saw the first physical specimens of that growing relationship with a pair of translucent Turtle MiniMates, but previously announced items like the full line of TMNT 'Mates were also on display. In other expanded branding news, DST revealed that they have even more items based on the films of Kevin Smith in the works. Attendees could see plush Buddy Christs as well as mugs featuring Mooby, Bluntman and Chronic all of which will be available for pre-order early next year.

SUPER MARIO BROS. | We're still trying to comb through everything Bluefin Tamashii Nations had on display at SDCC, but the one thing that caught our eye instantly was this image of the S.H.Figurarts Luigi figure from their Super Mario Bros. line! From the looks of the image, Mario's green-loving bro comes with his own set of boxes and pipes!

DARK HORSE DELUXE SDCC | In addition to a variety of comic book announcements, Dark Horse also had a few things for toy fans to swoon over at SDCC. First up, they're adding Tyrion Lannister to their line of Game of Thrones toys based on the hit HBO series. The non-articulated, 8-inch-tall figure will hit stores next March. Meanwhile, the Horse announced a team-up with Mattel to produce "The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe," an art book that will include concept sketches, figure prototypes and lots more from Mattel's vast He-archives. The book hits stores on April 1, 2015.

SUPERMAN RETRO | Superman and his pals will get their own line of retro MEGO-like figures from Figures Toy Company. The wave of World's Greatest Heroes 8-inch cloth toys will include the Man of Steel himself, Supergirl, Bizarro and Mr. Mxyzptlk. The toys can be pre-ordered right now -- either individually or as a set -- and will ship in November.

KOTOBUKIYA COMIC CHARACTERS | Kotobukiya used their Facebook page to show off a trio of upcoming pieces from DC and Marvel. Bat-fans will have a pair of offerings to check out including a Damian Wayne Robin and a Bishoujo Batwoman with two heads, one masked, the other unmasked with short hair. Over on the Marvel side of things, Koto unleashed a Deadpool Marvel Now ARTFX+ statue that can rock two different left arms, one with the hang ten hand symbol, the other ready for a sword or any other weapon you have lying around.

THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS | A week before SDCC, Mezco announced a brand new line called The One:12 Collective which will portray iconic characters in 6-inch scale with cloth costumes and 32 points of articulation starting with "Dark Knight Returns" Batman, but other DC characters will join him along with Judge Dredd and the Universal Monsters. Batman will ship this fall.

HE-MAN | By the power of Grayskull, Pop Culture Shock has created one of the most realistic-looking He-Man collectibles ever seen. This 29-inch-tall statue is a life-size replica of what Prince Adam's alter ego would look like were he real. The regular version is limited to 300 pieces, but PCS also has a limited-to-125-piece exclusive available that features moveable acrylic eyes and an attachable Power Sword hilt. Both will ship next fall.
