As the release of "Iron Man 3" on May 3 draws near, expect to see a mountain of toys, statues and just about everything else with ol' Shell Head's face on it. We've already featured plenty of those collectibles in earlier TOYING AROUND posts, but today we feature new MiniMates and an early look at a War Machine statue from Kotobukiya. Of course, Marvel's not the only game in town when it comes to geekery -- if DC Comics, Star Trek, Star Wars, Halo 4, The Walking Dead or even E.T. are more your speed, we have those covered too!

IRON MAN 3 | Marvel.com unveiled the last three figures in Diamond Select Toys' line of "Iron Man 3" MiniMates. All three happen to be different versions of the Armored Avenger's suits including the Heartbreaker, Silver Centurion and Skeleton. The Centurion and Skeleton armors come in one 2-pack while Heartbreaker comes with a partially armored Tony Stark. These two 2-packs are only available at Toys 'R' Us later this month.

THE AVENGERS | While just about everyone has their eyes looking toward the release of "Iron Man 3," there's still plenty of older appearances of the character worth manufacturing as toys. Hot Toys revealed their 1/6th scaled Mark VII Battle Damaged Limited Edition Collectible Figurine on their Facebook page based on his appearance at the end of "The Avengers" film. The figure is limited to 800 pieces, will initially go on sale in Hong Kong and then get offered as a special promotion in the rest of the world.

BATMAN ARKHAM CITY | Every month on their Facebook page, DC Collectibles shows a series of mostly-obscured images dubbed "Spoiler Alert," offering people the chance to guess what the piece is. The most recent "SA" showed off a mostly gray-tone Batman statue based on the "Arkham City" video game. Note the bit of red on his gloves and batarang.

STAR TREK | Diamond Select Toys continues to present a series of spot-on Star Trek ships and this all new MiniMate version of the U.S.S. Enterprise is not a departure by any means. This particular iteration is based on the classic episode "The Trouble with Tribbles" and comes with both an exclusive Captain Kirk figure and an assortment of Tribbles based on the episode! The piece is exclusive to Action Figure Xpress and is out in May.

STAR WARS | On their Facebook page, statue makers Gentle Giant showed off some behind-the-scenes designs work for an upcoming Star Wars ARTFX+ statue of General Grievous. It looks like the statue comes with the potential to be displayed with two or four arms with the appropriate amount of lightsabers for either setting.

MARVEL STATUES | Kotobukiya gave fans a look at an in-the-works "Iron Man 3" piece featuring Don Cheadle's War Machine armor. Though still clearly a work in progress, the piece appears to achieve the illusion of light thanks to a tall pile of rubble the hero seems to be soaring over. For a more complete piece, check out this Hulk from their Classic Avengers Fine Art Statue line out in October.

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS | On their Sideshow Experience blog, Sideshow Collectibles announced the latest entry in their sixth scale Militaries of Star Wars line: Clone Commander Wolffe. One of the stars of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," Wolffe has gone through some helmet and facial changes reflected in two different sculpts. The figure also sports a jetpack, holster and weapons.

SPIDER-MAN | Sideshow also posted a brief behind the scenes clip showing off in-process work on their upcoming Mary Jane Comiquette. The statue, as you can briefly glimpse in the video, is based on designs by renowned comic book artist J. Scott Campbell.

PUNISHER | As if all that wasn't enough, Sideshow also revealed a portion of their upcoming Punisher Premium Formate Figure statue, adorned with a real cloth costume and gigantic gun. Head over and sign up for alerts or stay tuned right here on CBR and we'll keep you posted.

ASSASSIN'S CREED | McFarlane Toys continues to show off figures from their upcoming Assassin's Creed lines. They just announced a 4-pack dubbed Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag which happens to be the name of the next game in the franchise. This pack includes assassin Edward Kenway, Blackbeard the pirate and a pair of not-yet-revealed legendary pirates who play a large part in the game. The pack can be pre-ordered now and ships in September. (via ToyNewsI)

THE WALKING DEAD | Sites like You Bent My Wookie scored early images of McFarlane's fourth wave of The Walking Dead figures based on the AMC TV series. This wave includes Andrea, the Governor, Carl, a zombie in riot gear, another zombie in a gas mask and a Dixon Brothers 2-pack consisting of a slightly repainted Merle and an unchanged Daryl figure from previous offerings.

HALO 4 | McFarlane's going big in both scale and importance with their next Deluxe figure based on "Halo 4." The piece is the game's big bad The Didact, a member of the Forerunners who were suspended in time only to "thaw out" and switch focus from the now-defeated Flood to humanity. The nine inch tall figure boasts 29 points of articulation and is out in September.

E.T. | Let's be honest, everyone who's seen Steven Spielberg's 1982 sci-fi family adventure film "E.T." wanted to have a telekinetic, empathic extra terrestrial of their own. NECA wants to make those dreams a reality, but without all the powers. The company is adding to their Stunt Replica line of movie-accurate puppets with this 3 foot tall E.T. made of foam rubber and latex. The piece can be pre-ordered now and ships in July.
