TOYING AROUND: DC Collectibles Fools, Hot Toys Makes Us Drool & Much More!

Even the world of action figures, statues, replicas and collectibles can't escape the looming shadow of April Fools' Day. However, even though DC Collectibles showed off some impressive gags, companies like Hot Toys, Funko, Diamond Select Toys and plenty of others took the time this week to debut new figures based on Star Wars, "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Sesame Street," Batman, Stan Lee and much more!

DC COLLECTIBLES APRIL FOOL'S | April 1 can be a difficult day for those of us who rely on the internet for things to write about. With so much April Fools' Day trickery you don't want to report on something false, but you also don't want to miss something real. Thankfully, DC Collectibles came right out with their jokes on Facebook. The faux offerings include a "MAD"-inspired Alfred E. Neuman chess set, the Batman Vs. Anti-Monitor battle statue, a Danny the Street action figure from Grant Morrison's "Doom Patrol," the baby-friendly Map of the Multiverse mobile and the Markovia Diplomat Kit which includes "crown, scepter, certificate, a rock and much more!"

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON | In actual real collectible news, Hot Toys unveiled the first look at their quarter scale Iron Man Mark XLIII figure based on Robert Downey Jr.'s appearance in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Unlike other Hot Toys offerings in the 1/6 scale, this one measures 20 inches tall. This massive figure comes with interchangeable heads, LED lights and removable armor parts.

Meanwhile, Hot Toys exhibited in Hong Kong offering even more first looks. This time around the company displayed Stealth Iron Man, Iron Legion, Ultron Mark I, Ultron Sentry and War Machine Mark II. As if that wasn't enough, check out those massive Hulk, Hulkbuster Iron Man, Iron Man and Ultron pieces they had on display!

BATMAN | Sideshow Collectibles went for a slightly less dark look with their latest Batman Premium Format Figure. This time around, instead of the black and grey togs, the statue-makers opted for the grey-and-blue outfit with yellow bat emblem. The piece stands 25 inches tall including the gargoyle base and ships next spring.

HAWKEYE | Matt Fraction and David Aja tapped into something special when they created the Marvel NOW! "Hawkeye" series. Like plenty of fans, Diamond Select Toys recognized this and decided to create an action figure based on that look to be sold first on MarvelShop.com and then in Disney Stores (starting April 6). The figure comes with a bow, arrows, alternate hand, bandaged head, crossbow, pistol and his K-9 companion Lucky, AKA Pizza Dog.

GREEN LANTERN | A few months back, Kotobukiya revealed their . At the time they showed off Superman, but this week they revealed the cosmos' number one space cop, Hal Jordan! This piece stands 8 inches tall and comes with the iconic power battery, but you get to supply the oath!

GO HERO | To very real comic book heroes are getting 1:6 scale action figures from Go Hero and Executive Replicas. The first is none other than the big daddy of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee, while the other is "Batman" actor Adam West. Both come with cloth outfits, a variety of accessories and the authorization of both men.

STAR WARS | Jabba's palace might not have been the nicest place in the world what with the Han Solo wallhanging, giant slug overlord and imprisoned Rebel princess, but at least the tunes were solid. Underground Toys wants fans to recreate that part of the atmosphere with the Max Rebo electronic plush. Tap a button and listen to the tunes! A version emblazoned with "Star Wars Celebration, Anaheim 2015" will be available at the event.

STAR WARS CELEBRATION | The Star Wars Celebration exclusives continue thanks to Funko, who will be exhibiting at the Anaheim Convention Center between April 16-19. The company unleashed the first batch of exclusive Pop Vinyls which include E-3PO, Unmasked Vader, R2-Q5 and a red Shock Trooper. Funko also noted that Toy Tokyo will have the Pop Vinyl version of R2-R9 at their booth.

POP VINYL | How exactly do you draw connections between "American Horror Story," "Vikings" and "Sesame Street" aside from the obvious TV correlation? That's beyond us this week, so let's just jump into the new Pop Vinyls based on those shows shown off by Funko this week. "American Horror Story: Freak Show" Pops hit this summer. The line includes Twisty, Pepper, the Tattler Twins and an Elsa Mars-Ma Petite 2-pack.

Meanwhile the "Vikings" series will kick off with Ragnar Lothbrok, Rollo, Floki, Lagertha and Seer.

Finally, if your tastes run a little less-bloody (or you have young kids who dominate TV time) Funko will have a line of Sesame Street Pop Vinyls come May. Mainstays Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Super Grover and a larger, 6-inch Mr. Snuffleupagus make up the first wave hitting this spring.
