With less than five months until it opens in theaters everywhere, Pixar has released a new promo and character poster for Toy Story 4, this time showcasing the return of Bo Peep.
Much of the upcoming sequel will reportedly have Woody and Bo Peep reunited after the latter character departed unseen sometime between the events of Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3. Pixar has posted a short promo clip on their official Twitter account revealing Bo Peep's new design.
"Bo’s taken control of her own destiny," director Josh Cooley explained in a written statement. "While Woody was watching Andy grow up, Bo gathered dust until she took it upon herself to head out into the world. And when Woody shows up, they can’t believe that they’ve found each other again."
Present since the 1995 original film, Bo Peep and Woody have always had a romantic connection, though their time apart led the two to grow in different directions. In the meantime, Pixar has also released a new character poster focused on Bo Peep.
"She is modern, independent, capable and confident," added Annie Potts, who will reprise her voice role as the porcelain doll. "Bo is written and conceived to be inspiring as she has weathered life’s ups and downs with grace. I aspire to that.”
Directed by Josh Cooley, Toy Story 4 stars Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Keanu Reeves, Annie Potts, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Jeff Pidgeon, Blake Clark, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele and Tony Hale. The film opens on June 21.
