Stephany Folsom is set to take over writing duties on Pixar's Toy Story 4. Folsom made headlines last year when she was denied writing credit on Marvel Studio's Thor: Ragnarok by the Writer's Guild of America after being brought on late in the process.
Interestingly, while WGA denied her credit, Marvel did go on to give Folsom "story by" credit on the film for her work. Thankfully, while she didn't receive proper credit on the Thor threequel, Folsom looks set to receive her due on Toy Story 4 as she takes over for Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, who departed the project last year.
Folsom made her mark with her script for 1969: A Space Odyssey Or: How Kubrick Learned To Stop Worrying And Land On The Moon, a film that tells an alternate-history story of the moon landing and a publicist that managed to convince Stanley Kubrick to work with NASA on the "fake landing." She also has a writing credit for The Princess of North Sudan, which is currently in development at Disney.
Toy Story 4 will be directed by Josh Cooley and is scheduled for a June 21, 2019 release. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are expected to return to their roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, but the full cast has yet to be announced.
