Over the past several years, Funko has gained a reputation for creating all kinds of collectibles based on franchises old and new. This year's New York Toy Fair showed that the company never been stronger in either department. In addition to more toys in the Pop Vinyl, Mystery Mini, Fabrikations, ReAction and Legacy lines, the company's created a new, more niche subdivision called Vinyl Sugar that will only be sold in specialty stores and online.

Toy Fair 2015: Comics Art & TV Heroes Hit DC Collectibles

First and foremost, yes, Funko is making "Firefly" figures in their Legacy format, which means they will look like they stepped right off of the small screen. The first wave to delight Browncoats includes Mal, Wash, Zoe, Jayne and Kaylee. The other major Legacy figures will include The Rocketeer, who comes complete with signature rocketpack, helmet and even a head based on Billy Campbell's mug.

Meanwhile, the Kenner-esque ReAction line, which was first shown at last year's New York Toy Fair, continues to grow thanks to new figures based on "Arrow," "The Fifth Element," "Taxi Driver," "Boondock Saints," "Breaking Bad," "Tomorrowland" and "Terminator 2."

Two other interesting new ventures for Funko include Garbage Pail Kids and Star Wars Super Shoguns. The former will come out as blind-boxed Mystery Minis plus a 6-inch vinyl of Atom Bomb, while the latter will kick off with a 70s-style robot version of Boba Fett.

The company's stalwart, adorable Pop Vinyls looked like they'd been multiplying all on their own. Major new additions include Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Tomorrowland, but those were far from the only reveals.

"Arrow," "The Flash," unmasked Darth Vader, "Sesame Street," "Boondock Saints," classic "Battlestar Galactica," "Bravest Warriors," "21 Jump Street," "Superbad," "Cars," Deadpool and his Chimichanga truck, "The Munsters," "Game of Thrones," "Futurama," Pinhead, Nosferatu, "Orphan Black" and "Vikings" will all get their own Pop Vinyls in the coming months.

If you prefer your stylized toys a bit smaller and with an element of chance, then the news that Funko will have even more Mystery Minis in the works is for you. Blizzard video games, "Frozen" and Pixar's "Inside Out" will all get the blind boxed treatment.

In other new release news, the plushy Fabrikations series will bring "Big Hero 6" star Baymax, Groot and Anger and Sadness from "Inside Out" into the fold. Soon, Fabrikations will be joined by a new soft toy concept called Mopeez that are supposed to capture the heroes and villains of DC and Marvel when they're feeling down thanks to weighted bottoms and less-than-happy faces.

However, the new Vinyl Sugar imprint will surely bring smiles to plenty of faces thanks to products like Vinyl Idolz and Vinyl Vixens. If the Idolz look familiar to you, that's because they're based on designs created by British PR company A Large Evil Corporation that made the rounds last fall.

We weren't the only ones who noticed. Funko contacted the Brits and made a deal to combine their designs with Funko's licenses and toy-making abilities. Thus, Vinyl Idolz was born. Kick off toys will be based on "Back to the Future," "Ghostbusters," "Say Anything," "Young Frankenstein," "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," "Dodgeball," "Hot Fuzz," "Shaun of the Dead," "The Walking Dead" and "Napoleon Dynamite."

If DC's female supervillains are more your cup of tea, don't worry -- Vinyl Sugar also has a series called Vinyl Vixens in the works that launches with Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.
