Anime is filled with tons of relationships and ships that fans go crazy for. There are tons of relationships that fans aren't too fond of. While some partnerships are just a bad match, others are more toxic. Whether one of the lovers is a cheater, the relationship is unfair, or there is yandere involved, there are some anime relationships that had fans internally screaming.

Below is a list of ten relationships that should have never happened or, in some cases, been continued. These relationships are frowned upon by many anime fans, and for the characters involved, they are completely unhealthy.

10 Inuyasha and Kikyo

Once lovers, Inuyasha and Kikyo were turned against each other by the deceptive Naraku. After being brought back to life, though, the two continually ended up running into each other and even shared a kiss. Not only did Inuyasha often leave Kagome behind for Kikyo, but the two were destined to be torn apart.

Eventually, Inuyasha moved on and decided he should stay with Kagome.

9 Black Lady and Tuxedo Mask

This is probably on the list of most disturbing anime couples in history. In the Black Moon Arc of Sailor Moon Chibiusa is corrupted and turned into an evil version of her future self. Strangely enough, she decides to kidnap her dad's past self and start a short but disturbing relationship with him.

The two even share a brief kiss, which turned many fans stomaches.

8 Makato and Kotonha

Makoto, Kotonoha, and Sekai have an awkward lunch in School Days

If you have ever seen the anime School Days, then you know exactly where this is going. The anime follows the cheater route of the visual novel of the same name. Makato starts off by dating Kotonha and then goes on to cheat on her with several different women.

This cheating leads Kotonha to completely lose her mind and use a knife to brutally kill Makato, severe his head, and take it to her friend, who she also ends up murdering.

7 Light and Misa

Light is probably one of the most confusing protagonists of all time. In Death Note, he has the noble cause of ridding the world of criminals, that quickly becomes twisted. Along the way, he meets Misa, who also wields a note and becomes obsessed with the idea of Kira, this leads Light to use her as a tool.

While he doesn't kill her, he does lead her on and even has her exchange her lifespan for Shinigami eyes.

6 Yukiteru and Yuno

Future Diary is another popular show, and one of the first ones to help make popular the yandere personality type. The show revolves around Yukiteru, who finds himself thrust into a death game with a cellphone that can tell the future. He makes fast allies with Yuno, a girl that is willing to do literally anything for them.

This even goes as far as Yuno murdering his mom over feared disapproval of their relationship.

5 Hachi and Takumi

This relationship is one that often upsets fans of Nana. After starting friends with benefits type of relationship with Takumi, Nana ended up meeting a man she actually feels connected to. Unfrotuabtly she soon found out she was pregnant and soon decided to marry Takumi, who has possession issues.

Takumi also is known for having anger issues and is in a band that keeps him away from home.

4 Zero, Yuki, and Kaname

If you have ever read Vampire Knight to the end, then you are likely frustrated by its strange ending. Yuki, the main protagonist, ends up with both men at the end. She falls pregnant by Kaname before he is sealed in a deep sleep and then starts a life with Zero, who she has her second child by.

This is particularly strange as Zero and Kaname are known enemies, and the ending is unsatisfying.

3 Kyouya and Erika

Wolf Girl and Black Prince is not the shining example of a high school relationship. Kyouya is rude, violent, and has even threatened Erika. He doesn't like to go to school and lives the bad boy lifestyle. Erika, on the other hand, is a bright young lady that honestly could do a lot better for herself.

The relationship mechanics between the two are interesting, but make the couple hard to love.

2 Yui and Ayato

Unlike the visual novel of the same name, Diabolik Lovers, the anime is fast-paced and is a horrible example of romance. Ayato constantly bad mouths Yui, chases her down and forcefully assaults her to suck her blood. At one point, he even throws her in a pool where she almost drowns.

Despite all of this, Yui refuses to run away, and the two end up together by the end.

1 Kyo and Kagura

The world of Fruits Basket is filled with dark twists and turns, but the relationship between Kyo and Kagura is not one of them. From the get-go, fans see that Kagura tries to force herself on Kyo, who is completely unwilling to be her boyfriend. When he rejects her, she often ends up psychically injuring him.

While Kagura does finally let go of Kyo, their relationship was toxic while it lasted.
