Those summer vacation plans may not have worked out as you’d hoped, but you’ll soon be able to enjoy a one-of-a-kind getaway across the Marvel Universe in “Hidden Universe Travel Guide: The Complete Marvel Cosmos.” Better still, it’s a guided tour, complete with snarky commentary from Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Insight Editions has provided CBR with the exclusive first look at the trailer for the upcoming book, written by Marvel Comics veteran Marc Sumerak (“The Adventures of Spider-Man,” “Power Pack”).
The 160-page guide takes readers from Earth (with stops in Wakanda, Latveria, New Atillian and the Savage Land) to Asgard (and the rest of the Nine Realms, naturally), Planet X, Weirdworld, Knowhere, Planet of the Symbiotes and beyond. Want to know where to stop for a drink in Alfheim, or how best to deal with a prickly Ego the Living Planet? You can find it here.
Each entry includes such sections on “History and Culture,” “Sights and Activities,” “Shopping and Entertainment” and even “What to Wear,” along with “Tips for a Fun Trip,” some of which spark commentary from the Guardians of the Galaxy. For example, the entry on Chitauri Prime — you’ll likely remember the Chitauri as those pleasant would-be invaders of Earth in “Marvel’s The Avengers” — the “Tips for a Fun Trip” advises “DO: Not go to Chitauri Prime” and “DON’T: Go to Chitauri Prime.”
Priced at $19.99, “Hidden Universe Travel Guide: The Complete Marvel Cosmos” goes on sale Oct. 25 from Insight Editions.
