One of the most popular series within the Total War real-time strategy video game series is Total War: Warhammer, bringing the popular tabletop franchise by Games Workshop to life.

Following 2017's Total War: Warhammer II, the series is getting a new installment from developer Creative Assembly, slated for release later this year at a currently unannounced date. The upcoming game's official announcement trailer delves into the Realm of Chaos as vast armies charge into battle.

The Total War video game series first brought players to the world of Warhammer in 2016's Total War: Warhammer, with the game's runaway popularity prompting the release of a full sequel the following year. The upcoming game will provide bonuses for players that own the first two games, with unlockable maps and a combined map for online multiplayer.

While additional details about Total War: Warhammer III is still currently under wraps, the game is already available for preorder on Steam and the Epic Games store, with the title expected to be playable on PC, Mac and Linux systems.

Developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega, Total War: Warhammer III is expected to be released for PC sometime in 2021.
