The first installment in a planned trilogy of graphic novel memoirs, "March: Book One" recounts U.S. Congressman John Lewis' early days and his initial involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. The novel was co-written by Lewis and Andrew Aydin and features illustrations by Nate Powell.

Since its release in August 2013, "March: Book One" became a Coretta Scott King Honor book and won a Robert F. Kennedy Book Award, becoming the first graphic novel to do so.
