Top Gun 2020 Update Tom Cruise

The home release versions have more than four hours of extras, including interviews with Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer in a featurette about Top Gun and the upcoming sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. The long-in-development sequel had its release date moved several times because the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic interfered with plans to promote the film.

Top Gun was originally released May 16, 1986 and grossed $356.83 million globally. The film was produced by Paramount Pictures, directed by the late Tony Scott and starred Tom Cruise, Anthony Edwards and Val Kilmer as U.S. Navy fighter pilot trainees at the Fighter Weapons School at Naval Air Station Miramar in San Diego, CA. Top Gun was nominated for three Academy Awards and won the Oscar and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin, in 1986.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, Top Gun: Maverick stars Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, Ed Harris, Jon Hamm, Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Manny Jacinto, Monica Barbaro, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez and Jay Ellis. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 19.
