Here is an archive of all the past top five lists I've done over the years.

With everyone in self-isolation, a popular thing passing around the internet has been people asking their friends online to give them a category and they will provide their top five in that category. I figured that this would make for a fun thing for us to do, as well. Before this week, I hadn't done a Top Five for CSBG since August 2016, but I'll bring them back for a brief return!

Today, based on a suggestion from reader Stephen M., here are my picks for the top five superheros who have never had their own comic book series. Note that we're only talking SUPERHEROES here, so no J. Jonah Jameson or Perry White or whatever.

5. G'NORT

I'll admit, I just want some excuse for Keith Giffen and J.M DeMatteis to work on another project...

Remember that weird story arc that tried to fit G'Nort into Green Lantern continuity without making the Green Lantern Corps look bad? Huh, I guess I should do an article on that. I think I will. I really didn't like the story, but it's interesting to write about...

Anyhow, G'Nort is a great character because he is a total joke, but he is an ENDEARING complete buffoon. He opens himself up to so many fun adventures in outer space.

4. FIRE AND ICE

There was a time that these two would possibly be #1 on this list, but I'll admit that a lot of what made them work so well was Giffen and DeMatteis. Since those two stopped writing them, they really haven't done particularly well, outside of some interesting stuff with Fire in Checkmate and a good Charles Soule issue with Ice (they've both appeared IN good stories, but outside of Giffen and DeMatteis, other writers don't seem to quite "get" this pairing)...

3. BRONZE TIGER

Another character where I guess I'm really thinking about specifically John Ostrander's version of the Bronze Tiger rather than the character himself...

However, I still think a guy who can beat up Batman and who was brainwashed into murdering a superhero and then came back and redeemed himself?

That's a cool character. And his Richard Dragon and Lady Shiva connections makes for an interesting built-in supporting cast.

2. CANNONBALL AND SUNSPOT

How in the world has neither of these two received their own series? Either one of them not having a series is shocking, BOTH of them is just absurd!

Jonathan Hickman has made them one of the best bromances in comics and they'd be great with their own series...

1. MISTER FANTASTIC

Okay, Reed Richards once had a miniseries...

But screw you, that so doesn't count. Mister Fantastic remains the only member of the Fantastic Four to never have his own series and the guy clearly could handle one EASILY...

Those are my picks! Let me know what your choices would have been on Twitter or Facebook or via e-mail!
