Top Five Greatest Gambit/Rogue Moments

3. Rogue brings Gambit back from the dead (X-Treme X-Men #18)

So in earlier issues (all by Chris Claremont and Salvador Larroca), Gambit was being used as the conduit for an alien portal invading the Earth. He decides to sacrifice himself to stop the portal. Rogue doesn't like this, so she goes to him and absorbs his powers so that SHE would be the conduit for the portal and that so SHE could sacrifice herself. They succeed in imploding the portal without killing themselves, but the end result is that Gambit's powers are completely drained and Rogue's are almost drained - leading them to be easy target for the villainous Vargas...

Rogue pops up the next issue and uses her remaining powers to stop Vargas before then losing her powers, too, and the two of them are taken to the hospital, where Rogue is in slightly better shape. She, though, won't let Gambit leave her, so she fights for him in the astral plane...

Awwww...adorable.

2. Rogue and Gambit's First Date (X-Men #24)

Fabian Nicieza and Andy Kubert gave us a memorable first date between Rogue and Gambit right before Fatal Attractions...

1. Rogue Learns How to Control her Powers (X-Men Legacy #224)

For the top spot, I'm going with X-Men Legacy #224 by Mike Carey, Scot Eaton and Andrew Hennessey, where Professor Xavier and Danger discover how Rogue's powers work...

and then Xavier goes into Rogue's mind to fix her...

His mission now seemingly successful, he lets Rogue rest, as her mind now has to catch up to her newly matured powers. When she wakes, she is unsure if it really worked....

Amazing work by Carey. He really had a way with Rogue.

That's the list! Agree? Disagree? Let me know!
