Here is an archive of all the past top five lists I've done over the years.

After talking about Wolverine and Hulk fighting last week, I figured it'd be fun to look at the top five Captain America/Wolverine fights!

HONORABLE MENTION

Wolverine: Origins #20

Daniel Way and Steve Dillon tell this interesting story of Logan working with Captain America and Bucky, where Logan is working for a secret group and thus had to betray Cap, and Cap then kicked his ass...

It's a good issue, but the fight doesn't really count as much of a fight.

5. Wolverine #25 (by Mark Millar, John Romita Jr. and Klaus Janson)

This one is also not much of a fight, but at least it is a legitimate fight. Wolverine has been brainwashed and has just murdered his X-Men teammate, Northstar. The rest of the X-Men open fire on him and then Cap finishes the job....

Hey, if Falcon is impressed, then we should be, too!

4. Captain America Annual #8 (by Mark Gruenwald, Mike Zeck and John Beatty)

One of the all-time great covers, but the interior fight is super brief...

3. Wolverine: Origins #4-5 (by Daniel Way and Steve Dillon)

Wolverine was about to kill Nuke when Captain America showed up to instead take Nuke into custody (Wolverine had just had an altercation at the White House involving some of the things he now remembered after getting his memory restored during the House of M). They have a fight...

Damn, Way and Dillon sure did some cool fight sequences.

Nuke later shows up and attacks Wolverine, sending him into berserker mode and he attacks Cap, but then the X-Men show up to break up the fight.

Go to the next page for the top two...

2. Avengers vs. X-Men #3 (by Ed Brubaker, John Romita Jr. and Scott Hanna, based on a plot by Brubaker, Brian Michael Bendis, Jonathan Hickman, Jason Aaron and Matt Fraction)

So the Phoenix Force is headed to Earth and the X-Men think it is coming for Hope Summers to help restore all mutants. The Avengers don't want to let that happen. Wolverine, meanwhile, thinks the best solution is to just kill Hope. The Avengers want to capture her, but not kill her. So Wolverine betrays the X-Men and sides with the Avengers. But when they go to find Hope, Cap decides that he can't have Wolverine around because Wolverine will just try to kill her again. So Cap has to get rid of Wolverine before they get to Hope...

Very cool sequence, although it'd have been interesting to see it conclude. Hanna's inks look good on JRjr's pencils. Brubaker certainly "gets" Cap.

1. Captain America #404-405 (by Mark Gruenwald, Rik Levins and a bunch of inkers)

So Cap is investigating a town that turns out to be filled with werewolves. Other "feral" superheroes are drawn to this town, including Wolverine, who gets brainwashed into attacking Cap...

The fight is broken up by one of the bad guys knocking Cap out in the middle of the fight.

However, the NEXT issue, they have a re-match, and this time Cap is a freakin' WEREWOLF!!

Anything involving Capwolf is automatically pretty awesome, so this fight has to be #1.

Okay, that's the top five! Agree? Disagree? Let me know!
