Let's take a look at the top five best superhero battle cries (just superheroes and just from comic books)!

HONORABLE MENTIONS

First off, I don't count the Green Lantern oath as a battle cry. Just figured I'd get that one out of the way.

"This is a job for Superman!"

This one really doesn't count, either, as Superman most commonly says it to himself. That's not really how a battle cry work. You sort of need to actually cry it out loud.

"For Asgard!"

This is a pretty cool battle cry, but Thor really doesn't use it THAT much. It is most famous for the time that it was used in contrast to Loki's own personal battle cry...

"Titans Together!"

Not a bad one, but it really didn't come up quite enough for it to reach classic stage, I don't think. It's interesting that it is used in the above piece in such a way to suggest that it WAS a classic phrase, though.

"To me, my X-Men!"

It is a bit of a stretch as a battle cry, but it is still pretty cool, and it was close enough to make it here.

"By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth!"

Doctor Strange doesn't really have battlecries, per se - they are more incanctations or exclamations of surprise, but I figured incantations and battle cries are so close that it was worth giving it an honorable mention.

"Flame on!"

This one is awesome, but falls just a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit short, perhaps because in my mind Johnny Storm tends to use it in situations that wouldn't typically be described as "battle."

5. "Spoooon!"

This offbeat battle cry debuted in the seventh issue of The Tick. He amusingly explained the reason behind it...

It elongated over time to "Spooooooon!"

4. "Imperius Rex!"

On the list, this is perhaps the most commonly used one, as Namor seems to shout this bad boy constantly.

3. "Hulk Smash!"

This is the first one of these battle cries that was famous enough to have a comic book named after it...

2. "Avengers Assemble!"

Like "Flame on!" this isn't aLWAYS used as a battle cry, so that's the only reason it missed the top spot. Otherwise, it is just so famous it has to be right up there (it also had a comic book named after it).

1. "It's Clobbering Time!"

This one is ONLY a battle cry and it is amazing!
