Skateboard legend Tony Hawk announced on his birthday that the first two games in his self titled Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series will be remastered with 4K, HD visuals.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Activision and Vicarious Visions will release the game on Sept. 4, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. New features include an online multiplayer option, new secrets, new tricks and what's being touted as a build-a-park mode. These will go hand in hand with all the original content of 1999's Pro Skater 1 and 2000's Pro Skater 2, including all the original playable pro skaters, maps, soundtracks and modes.RELATED: Tony Hawk Tears Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man - For the Skateboard Scene

"The levels are remade from the ground up, all the assets are completely remade, but if you still have that muscle memory to pull off a combo line, it's all still there," Jean Oneal, studio head at Vicarious Visions, said. "When we look at our remasters, we're finding that 20 years is kind of a sweet spot. People remember something they love and want to recapture that moment."

The massive success of the original two Pro Skater games cannot be understated. The two were the second- and third-best-selling games on PlayStation in 2000. Since then, the Pro Skater series has gone on to spawn a long-running franchise with 17 entries over more than 20 years ago, earning an estimated $1.4 billion.

Published by Activision and developed by Vicarious Visions, the remastered Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 will hit shelves on Sept. 4, 2020.
