Tom King has a new DC Comics project in the works. On Twitter, the writer dropped some new artwork of two individuals holding hands, accompanied by a Thomas Wolfe quote: "Is this not the true romantic feeling; not to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping you."RELATED: Tom King Teases Next Batman Arc: The War of Jokes and Riddles

While it's hard to tell who exactly is holding hands here, their wrists offer a glimpse of their costumes. They look similar to Big Barda and Mister Miracle, two characters created by legendary artist Jack Kirby. Big Barda made her first appearance in "Mister Miracle" #4 in 1971 as the hero's love interest.

A closer look at the artwork leads us to believe it's from King's "Sheriff of Babylon" co-creator Mitch Gerads, though that is unconfirmed at this time. However, on a December 2016 episode of the John Siuntres "Word Balloon" podcast, King revealed he would be reuniting with Gerads for a DC superhero project in August. For now, we'll have to speculate on what this love connection could lead to.

According to his Tweet, King's new project will arrive in summer 2017.
