Until recently, it had been a while since Michael Jon Carter, aka Booster Gold, had any sizable presence within the DC Universe. Now that he's factoring into Action Comics' current storyline, however, hans have begun to wonder if the 25th Century transplant is poised to take on a larger role in Rebirth. Judging by a recent tweet from writer Tom King, it seems like that may be the case.RELATED: Dan Jurgens Gives Superman a Booster (Gold) Shot in Action Comics

Earlier this week, the current Batman writer tweeted about a "new number 1 for a secret thing" without elaborating. When a fan asked half-jokingly if it might be related to Booster, King responded with what appeared to be a small screenshot of script dialogue featuring the DC hero.

Of course, there isn't much context to Booster Gold's dialogue. "Aaaaa!" doesn't exactly reveal much, but it's seems Booster will be a part of whatever "new number 1" it is that King is working on. Of course, it could simply be a joke on the DC writer's part, but surely he isn't that cruel... right?

Created by writer/artist Dan Jurgens, Booster Gold debuted in 1986 after the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, and quickly became a cult favorite for DC Comics readers. Apart from once being a member of the Justice League, he's occupied roles both large and small in many crossovers and events, though he hasn't headlined his own title for a few years.
