Actor Tom Holland revealed that his mother saved him from some truly terrible advice offered by his Uncharted co-star, Mark Wahlberg.

In an interview with Esquire Middle East, Holland was asked about the best piece of advice Wahlberg had given him. Holland, reminiscing, said that Wahlberg had given him some pointers years ago, before they even worked together on the set of Uncharted. "He said to me on a chat show that I should move to LA with all my boys and get a marijuana license," Holland said.

Holland went on to say that the best piece of advice was actually given to him by his mother, who warned him against doing such a thing. Laughing, Holland confirmed that he did indeed listen to his mother and did not get the license as Wahlberg had recommended.

Based on Naughty Dog's video game series of the same name, Uncharted centers around young fortune hunter Nathan "Nate" Drake (Holland) and his partner/mentor, Wahlberg's Victor "Sully" Sullivan. The two are on a quest to uncover a lost fortune from the voyages of Magellan before the wealthy and ruthless treasure hunter, Moncada (Antonio Banderas), can do so along with his band of mercenaries. During this mission, Drake and Sully also follow a set of clues that may lead to the location of Drake's brother, Sam, who has been missing for years.

Despite Uncharted entering development in 2008, filming for the movie did not officially start until 12 years later, March 16 2020, after Ruben Fleischer and Holland had been attached to the project as its director and lead actor respectively. The film had a complicated production process due to various directors, writers and cast members dropping in and out of the movie behind the scenes. In addition, filming for Uncharted was forced to shut down and enter a four-month hiatus due to the pandemic.

Joining Holland, Wahlberg and Banderas in this prequel to the Uncharted video game series are Sophia Ali (Grey's Anatomy) as Chloe Frazer, Drake's love interest and fellow fortune hunter, and Tati Gabrielle (The 100) as Braddock, a mercenary working under Moncada. Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) and YouTuber ElrubiusOMG will also be featured in the film, although their roles have not yet been confirmed.

Uncharted will be released in theaters on Feb. 11 in the UK and Feb. 18 in the United States.
