Spider-Man: No Way Home's Tom Holland said it's time to make room for some other Spider-People in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"I've loved every minute of it. I've been so grateful to Marvel and Sony for giving us the opportunity and keeping us on and allowing our characters to progress. It's been amazing," Holland said in an interview with People. "And that's why for me, I don't want to say goodbye to Spider-Man -- but I feel like we might be ready to say goodbye to Spider-Man."

"I don't want to be responsible for holding back the next young person that comes in who deserves it just as much so," Holland said. "I would love to see a future of Spider-Man that's more diverse -- maybe you have a Spider-Gwen or a Spider-Woman. We've had three Spider-Mans in a row; we've all been the same. It'd be nice to see something different."

This isn't the first time Holland has discussed moving on from Spider-Man and making way for other characters, like Miles Morales, for example. However, the future of his iteration of Peter Parker in the MCU remains unclear, even with reports that a fourth Spider-Man movie may already be in the works with Marvel Studios.

"I don't know what the future of Spider-Man looks like," Holland said in a previous interview. "I don't know whether I'm going to be a part of it. Spider-Man will always live on in me, and I know that [No Way Home producer Amy Pascal] and the studio are keen to figure out what the next chapter of Spider-Man looks like. If that happens to be with me, then that's very exciting. But, you know, if it's time for me to walk away, then I'll do so proudly."

Aside from Spider-Woman or Spider-Gwen, Holland has also expressed interest in seeing other Spider-characters like Jackpot or Silk join the MCU, but not without first clarifying previous comments he made about not wanting to still be playing the character into his thirties.

"What I was referring to in that interview where I said, 'If I was playing Spider-Man when I'm 30, I've done something wrong,' is because I would be taking up an opportunity for someone to come in and change what being Spider-Man means. You know, Spider-Man can be more diverse, it could be a female character, it could be anything," he said. "I'd like to see Miles, I'd like to see Silk. I think you could do a really cool Jackpot movie."

In terms of the next chapter of Spider-Man, Pascal has hinted at the Web-Slinger's future, stating that the character will likely appear in future projects for both Sony and Marvel. When asked about the potential to see Holland in a film not connected to the MCU, Pascal said, "We all want to keep making movies together. How's that for an answer?"

For now, Holland is starring as Peter Parker/Spider-Man once again in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is now playing exclusively in theaters.
