THR also notes Jon Watts -- who directed Holland's two MCU solo films -- is not contractually obligated to return.

Sony Pictures and Disney's falling out comes on the heels of Spider-Man: Far From Home becoming the highest-grossing picture ever for the first studio. Far From Home has already earned over $1.10 billion at the worldwide box office.
