Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland said the mentor relationship on screen between Spider-Man and Iron Man, shown in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, carried on between him and Robert Downey Jr. off-screen as well.

Holland told GQ that Downey, who played Tony Stark in the MCU, gave him a tip on how to live in the moment when doing a scene. "He took me to one side and said, 'I remember the feeling. I've been through this before and it is incredibly stressful. Enjoy the process and let your body take over,'" Holland said. "Which is advice that I still use."

Holland continued, "I was doing a new Spider-Man scene just the other day and I had to eat a bowl of cereal. And I just couldn't eat a bowl of cereal like a normal person -- I was too in my head. And the director, Jon [Watts], goes, 'What are you doing?' And I was like, 'Sorry, I'm leading with my head and I need to lead with my body.' So it was good advice. And I think that's the piece of advice that got me the Spider-Man job ultimately."

Holland joined the MCU in Captain America: Civil War, with Downey's Stark taking Holland's Peter Parker under his wing. Stark provided Parker with guidance, resources and equipment -- which the younger hero didn't always use wisely -- in the final two Avengers movies and solo adventures Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
