Amidst turbulent times for the Spider-Man: Far From Home star, Tom Holland posted pictures of himself with his on-screen mentor, Robert Downey Jr..
Holland posted several photos of himself with Downey on Instagram. "We did it Mr. Stark," the younger actor wrote. The final image of them together shows the two actors holding action figures of the other's character.
The photos come amidst turbulent times for Spider-Man. Sony Pictures and Disney have seemingly split over monetary issues surrounding the character. At this time, it's unclear whether Holland's Spider-Man will remain in the MCU or if he'll become closer to Sony's Marvel Universe. The news broke shortly after Spider-Man: Far From Home became Sony Pictures' highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office, breaking a record previously held by Skyfall.
For his part, Avengers: Endgame likely represents Downey's last turn as Tony Stark for the foreseeable future, as the character died at the end of the movie, having used his own Infinity Gauntlet to snap away Thanos and his army.
Director Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders, Jon Favreau, JB Smoove, Jacob Batalon and Martin Starr, with Marisa Tomei and Jake Gyllenhaal. The film is currently in theaters.
