He has an army — and apparently quite the singing voice as well.

Deadline reports Tom Hiddleston, best known to Marvel fans for his turns as Loki in The Avengers and the Thor films, has been tapped to star as legendary country singer Hank Williams in I Saw the Light, a biopic being directed by Marc Abraham and produced by RatPac Entertainment, Bron Studios and Creative Wealth Media.

The film will chronicle Williams' heartbreaking story, from his quick rise to stardom to his tragic death at the age of 29. Williams is best known for songs like "Your Cheatin' Heart" and "Hey Good Lookin'."

There's no release date set, but I Saw the Light is scheduled to begin production in Louisiana in October.
