Loki is the Marvel villain who just won't go away. After being defeated in Thor, he came back for The Avengers. Once Earth's Mightiest Heroes were finished with him, it was announced he'd be back for Thor: The Dark World. So will he return again for The Avengers 2? Tom Hiddleston revealed in a recent interview that he still isn't sure.
"I don't know, and that really is the honest answer," he told MSN. "I know I've been known for obfuscation in other quarters, but I have no idea, I haven't spoken to Joss. He's definitely doing it. So I suspect not, only because I think that probably the audiences are tired of Loki being the bad guy. Maybe the Avengers need somebody else to fight. But I'd love to be part of it again."
Maybe Loki doesn't need to be a bad guy, though. While we don't see Thor and Loki fighting foes together, he still could be a part of The Avengers world without being a villain. Hiddleston has quickly turned into a fan-favorite actor, so we're crossing our fingers that there's a place for him in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Opening Nov. 8, 2013, Thor: The Dark World also stars Chis Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Zachary Levi, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Christopher Eccleston.
