"Mad Max: Fury Road" star Tom Hardy has signed on to produce and star in a film adaptation of Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso's Vertigo series "100 Bullets" through New Line Cinema, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hardy, who joined the film with an eye to star, will produce alongside Dean Baker. The project has already developed a script from Chris Borrelli ("The Vatican Tapes").
Azzarello and Risso's Eisner and Harvey Award-winning series follows Agent Graves, a mysterious man who presents strangers with a gun, one hundred rounds of untraceable ammunition and the identity of the person who ruined their life. The series evolved into a crime saga over the course of its one hundred issues, which ran from 1999 to 2009.
Though no details about the plot have been revealed at this time, THR's sources report that the film will stay true to its source material.
