Ever since the cinematic debut of Cletus Kasady during Venom's post-credits scene, fans of the psychotic symbiote Carnage have been eager to see the villain make an appearance in Venom 2. However, even though details on the film are sparse, Tom Hardy has been sporadically teasing the highly anticipated sequel.
Most recently, the actor hinted at a clash between Venom and Carnage on Instagram.
"W3'R'V3N0M2," Hardy's caption reads, followed by several emojis.
Taking a closer look, the post shows the masks of the two symbiotes in the style of the iconic "Comedy" and "Tragedy" theatrical masks. In particular, Carnage's face is drawn in the style of "Comedy," with Venom's face representing "Tragedy." Although this minute detail may be coincidental, it's possible Hardy is teasing a bit more than just the inclusion of Woody Harrelson's Carnage in Venom 2 and perhaps the fate of the eponymous anti-hero.
Aside from Harrelson being confirmed to play the sequel's primary antagonist, we also know the film has cast Naomie Harris as the film's second villain, Shriek.
Directed by Andy Serkis and starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Venom 2 does not yet have a release date.
