Tom Hardy Stars in Trailer For Musical Mystery 'London Road'

Tom Hardy, known for films like "Bronson," "The Dark Knight Rises" and the upcoming "Mad Max: Fury Road," probably isn't the first actor -- or 41st -- you'd think of to star in a musical. But nevertheless, here he is, headlining the trailer for "London Road."

Based on Alecky Blythe's stage production of the same name, director Rufus Norris's musical mystery thriller centers on the Ipswich murders -- the killings of five prostitutes in late 2006 -- and the effects of the crimes and the media converage on the residents of a small English town. The dialogue and lyrics are taken directly from interviews, and the original cast all returns for the film (although Hardy and Oliva Colman are new additions).

"London Road" opens June 12 in the United Kingdom. There's no word yet about U.S. distribution.
