Even after Venom: Let There Be Carnage, star Tom Hardy isn't quite done playing Eddie Brock in Sony's franchise just yet.

The British star told The Hollywood Reporter, "I'm deeply invested in this particular franchise." On the potential for sequels to Let There Be Carnage, Hardy noted, "If it's successful, there is another one to do." Hardy's input on the production of the Marvel sequel ended up earning him a story credit. His partner Kelly Marcel explained Hardy pitched the original plot outline for the film, acting out key scenes in-character as Venom.

Director Andy Serkis called attention to Hardy's passionate acting style and strong work ethic. Woody Harrelson echoed these thoughts, claiming, "He's not even acting in it, and he's there the entire night." The Carnage actor observed, "He really cared and he really put his heart into it."

Serkis recently addressed the possibility of a Venom-Spider-Man crossover, with the filmmaker indicating that some form of interaction between the characters is inevitable. However, he has since said he would like to see Venom face the other supervillains housed in Ravencroft before crossing paths with the web-slinger. Still, this has done little to calm speculation that Hardy will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, after the actor posted a picture of himself wearing a No Way Home cap identical to the ones worn by the production crew.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage arrives in U.S. theaters on Friday, Oct. 1.
