Tom Hardy Chases a Serial Killer in First Trailer For 'Child 44'

Summit Entertainment has debuted the first trailer for Child 44, the new thriller from Snabba Cash and Safe House director Daniel Espinosa.

Based on Tom Rob Smith's 2008 novel of the same name, Child 44 is set in the 1950s Soviet Union, where secret police agent Leo Demidov (Tom Hardy) is exiled from Moscow after refusing to denounce his wife Raisa (Noomi Rapace) as a traitor. In a grim provincial outpost, they partner with Gen. Mikhail Nesterov (Gary Oldman) to track down a serial killer who preys on young boys, a quest that threatens a cover-up by Leo's psychopathic rival Vasili (Joel Kinnaman).

Also starring Paddy Considine, Jason Clarke and Vincent Cassel, Child 44 opens April 17.
