Fantastic Four director Josh Trank unveiled a trailer for his new film Capone with a Tuesday, May 12 release date, which suggests it will go straight to Video on Demand (VOD).

"TRAILER. Tom Hardy. Capone. Coming MAY 12. (Different title. My cut)," he captioned the Tweet. With theaters shut down due to the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, it is safe to assume the film will see a VOD release.

The film, originally titled Fonzo, follows notorious Chicago gangster Al Capone (Hardy) after his release from prison, where he spent 11 years for tax evasion.

Capone was diagnosed with syphilis during his time at the United States Penitentiary in Atlanta, GA, which took a toll on his mental health. While many Capone-centered pieces focus on his life as a gangster, Trank's Capone looks at a different side of the historical figure, as it focuses on his descent into dementia.

In addition to Tom Hardy, Josh Trank's Capone stars Linda Cardellini, Jack Lowden, Matt Dillon, Noel Fisher, Kyle MacLachlan, Katherine Narducci, Tilda Del Toro, Mason Guccione and Caiden Acurio.
