Tokyo Revengers, one of 2021's biggest breakout anime, has been praised for several reasons since its release, but arguably the biggest factor in its success is the series' ability to explore the culture of masculinity present in early-2000's Japan. Ken Wakui, the author behind the series, spent time in and out of street gangs after being fired from his first job during high school, so it's only natural that his familiarity with the dark underbelly of these groups would manifest in the events of Tokyo Revengers.

Given Wakui's experience with Japanese street gangs during his youth, it should come as no surprise that his seminal work, Tokyo Revengers, places so much emphasis on asserting agency through the exertion of physical violence. Tokyo Manji Gang (abbreviated as "Toman") and its members, despite their good intentions, frequently engage in violent altercations with their rivals. Although most of the characters in Tokyo Revengers present a serious threat, a few select fighters stand out in particular for their combat ability.

10 Pah-Chin Has As Much Endurance As Anyone In Toman

Pah Chin gives himself up in Tokyo Revengers.

Pah-chin is one of Tokyo Manji Gang's founding members and the captain of its Third Division. Known for his durability, Pah-chin demonstrated his ability to withstand punishment in his fight against the leader of Moebius, Nobutaka Osanai. Unfortunately, Tokyo Revengers fans don't see much of his abilities outside this fight, but his relationship with Toman suggests that he is a handful in the right situation.

While Pah-chin's fight against Osanai was potentially the worst one-sided beating in Tokyo Revengers, it's worth noting that Pah-chin was up against an established boxer who was three years older than him, making Pah-chin's ability to survive the encounter the primary takeaway from the fight.

9 Chifuyu Matsuno Is The Strongest Of Toman's Vice-Captains

Chifuyu in Tokyo Revengers.

Chifuyu Matsuno might not be one of Toman's captains like Pah-chin, but that shouldn't cast doubt on his ability to hold his own in a fight. As evidenced by holding his own against multiple upperclassmen while still in middle school, Chifuyu is legitimately a captain-level fighter.

Chifuyu's position as Vice-Captain of Tokyo Manji Gang's First Division is a respectable honor, yet it's a position that he likely settled into because of his adoration for Baji, the First Division's captain. Should Chifuyu ever decide that he wants to lead, he will make quite the name for himself.

8 Nahoya Kawata Sports A Smile Against All His Opponents

Kawata Nahoya smiling in Tokyo Revengers.

Better known as Smiley, Nahoya Kawata is one of the strongest fighters in all of Tokyo Manji Gang, serving as its Fourth Division Captain. Season 1 of Tokyo Revengers doesn't give Nahoya any one-on-one fights — but, should the anime stay true to the manga, Nahoya will definitely get the chance to shine soon. Still, a few factors clue audiences in regarding the character's potential.

Nahoya was the first known outsider to be added to the ranks of the Tokyo Manji Gang. The fact that the gang's original members decided that he was not only strong enough to join their ranks, but also form an entirely new division for him to serve as a captain, alludes to his strength.

7 Nabutaka Osanai's Boxing Skills Took Him To The Top Of Moebius

Osanai and Moebius in Tokyo Revengers.

A multitude of characters in Tokyo Revengers demonstrate their ability to dish out a beating, but the only one to be shown to have a formal background in a martial art is Moebius' leader, Nabutaka Osanai. As a former boxer, Osanai is as nimble on his feet as he is heavy in his hands.

Osanai's fight against Pah-chin proved that the two were worlds apart from one another in terms of fighting ability, and despite Osanai being significantly older, it was an impressive showing. However, boxing didn't seem to prepare Osanai for everything, as evidenced by Mikey's high kick which rendered the Moebius leader unconscious.

6 Kazutora Hanemiya's Time In Juvie Made Him A Grave Threat

Kazutora from Tokyo Revengers.

Arguably no character in all of Tokyo Revengers has a more tragic profile than the guilt-ridden Kazutora. After killing Mikey's older brother, Shinichiro, Kazutora spent multiple years in a juvenile detention center, hardening the erratic ex-member of the Tokyo Manji Gang to an unrecognizable degree.

Kazutora can clearly compete with the strongest fighters in Tokyo Revengers; however, the thing that sets him apart is his willingness to go to extreme lengths to inflict the damage that he desires. His time in juvie obviously taught him tactics that are much harsher than his peers, such as his use of weapons in fights with both Mikey and Baji.

5 Takashi Mitsuya Keeps A Level Head Regardless Of The Circumstances

Mitsuya Takashi from Tokyo Revengers.

Takashi Mitsuya, the Captain of Tokyo Manji Gang's Second Division, is perhaps the most balanced blend of level-headedness and devastating combat ability in Tokyo Revengers. Simultaneously rational and dangerous in a fight, Mitsuya has more than handled every opponent the series has placed him against.

Mitsuya hasn't received as many opportunities to shine as characters like Draken and Mikey, but it's clear that his talents aren't far behind theirs. Second only to those two and Baji in terms of Toman hierarchy, Takashi Mitsuya perfectly represents the might of Toman's Second Division.

4 Keisuke Baji Easily Infiltrated Valhalla's Upper Ranks

Baji joins Valhalla to get close to Kisaki in Tokyo Revengers.

Although the first season of Tokyo Revengers introduced its audience to many interesting figures, no one received a more nuanced character arc than the former Captain of Tokyo Manji Gang's First Division, Keisuke Baji. A key figure in the creation of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Baji lived up to the prestige of his position as First Division Captain.

Unfortunately, the majority of Baji's time on-screen was split between flashbacks and addressing his defection to Valhalla. However, as shown in his fights during the Bloody Halloween Arc and by his former position in Toman, he is one of the strongest fighters in all of Tokyo.

3 Shuji Hanma Is Valhalla's Strongest Fighter

If Shuji Hanma's "Sin" and "Punishment" tattoos don't establish him as one of the premier threats in all of Tokyo Revengers, then his extended tussles with Mikey and Draken certainly do. While neither of them was defeated by Hanma, his mind-boggling durability and toughness prevented the two leaders of Tokyo Manji Gang from achieving decisive victories.

Hanma served as the pseudo-leader of Valhalla for an extended period of time. By blocking the patented high kick of Mikey with no issue, Hanma quickly established the danger that he, as well as the rest of Valhalla, posed to Toman.

2 Draken Stands For The Ideals Of Toman

Draken on Bloody Halloween in Tokyo Revengers.

The Tokyo Manji Gang could not ask for a better representative than its towering Vice-Leader, Ken Ryuguji. Better known as Draken, the second-in-command of Toman has repeatedly dominated the battlefield, defeating every opponent that Tokyo Revengers has placed him in combat against.

While Draken did struggle to incapacitate Valhalla's glutton for punishment, Shuji Hanma, he eventually came out victorious. In addition, he took out over 20 members of Valhalla by himself in a separate fight, despite having been hit with a metal pipe to start the conflict. If it weren't for a single character, Draken would easily be the strongest fighter featured in Tokyo Revengers thus far.

1 Mikey Exists In A League All His Own

Mikey confronts Takemichi in Tokyo Revengers.

The leader of the Tokyo Manji gang didn't earn his nickname, "the invincible Mikey," for no reason. There has yet to be a single character in Tokyo Revengers who even approaches the strength of this menace on the battlefield, let alone a character who provides him with a challenging fight.

Osanai, Kazutora, Kiyomasa, and multiple other characters all went down after taking a single blow from Mikey — most of which were due to his patented left high kick. The few who did withstand the first strike, like Shuji Hanma, quickly realized the gap between their abilities upon doing so. Mikey might struggle in other regards, but no one will ever be able to say that he wasn't a legendary presence in combat.
